The Beast is dead, and Gaston is celebrating. Immediately after the trial he goes to the dining room to decorate, using ideas from Louis' Mardi Gras party, various weddings he's attended, and his own hunting lodge as inspiration. There are candles on the centers of the tables, colorful banners and streamers draped around the room, and of course, antlers on the walls. The tables have tablecloths and real plates and cutlery. The only food available is meat, eggs, and beer, of course, but there's no shortage of any of it, and the meat at least smells amazing.

It's all surprisingly tasteful? At least until you look up to the banner above the buffet table. ]

[ Once the crowd has arrived, Gaston steps forward to make his customary speech. ]

Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for joining me on this...momentous occasion. I can honestly say that I've been dreaming of this day for a long time.

[ He pauses, fighting back tears. ]

But now that it's here...I find it's not as sweet as I dreamed. Yes, the Beast is dead, and no longer can he terrorize us, our wives and children. But Prince Kit...

You may not have known this, but Prince Kit was like...a son to me. A slightly spoiled, soft, useless son...but under my tutelage, he became a man. Over the past few...uh, days...I've seen him grow. From taking his first drink, to...to killing a monster and making the ultimate sacrifice!

Truly, an inspiration to us all.

Of course...[ He sighs deeply, and clenches his hand unconsciously into a fist at his side. ] The deed...should have been mine to do. I swore I would kill the Beast, and...Prince Kit did it instead.

[ He smiles, a little wistfully, though strangely his eyes look more angry than sad, and there's an odd tension in his jaw. ]

I suppose I'm just too good a teacher.

[ There's a strained moment of silence. Then Gaston clears his throat and gestures to the food. ]

[Leia's not hitting the sauce as hard as she was last week; she's got a glass of wine, not a bottle of booze, but she needs something to tame the throbbing anger that's been steadily brewing since the end of that absolute shit-show of a trial, and is only compounded by Gaston's...everything. Nah he's ready for this. He raises an eyebrow as Stan marches over, smirking at him. ]

[He shrugs off his suit jacket and rolls up his shirt sleeves, untying his red tie and letting it hang around his neck. The first few buttons get parted to show off his thick gold necklace.]

[ Gaston pulls off his jacket and tosses it aside so he can roll up the sleeves of his blouse manly ruffled shirt. Then he undoes a few of his own buttons to show off that admirable chest hair. He never takes his eyes off Stan. ]

Damnit girl he'd wanted to watch Gaston to get his ass handed to him? But nooo, you've got to go slipping away like you have better things to do than this. Which. Unfortunately means something Actually Important is underway and he hates that.

He puts some effort into concealing his leaving the fight, but not much into his following Freddie. Notice him or not, just don't be pulling a Kit here. ]

[Stanley Pines made part of his living as a younger man boxing underground in England. He’s fought zombies and pterodactyls and sea monsters and dream demons, gotten in baby fights with his twin brother over stupid shit.

[There's a very loud crash from the stairs by the dining room. It looks as though it might have come from a floor or two up.
