Sadly, you’re still stuck here, but something inside you is nagging at you to keep your head up. This late in the game, nobody has to be willing to resort to murder.

[ Jyn's in a good mood today! She seems that way, anyway. For one thing, for the first time since arriving here she has her hair down all day, so that's already new, but she seems very. Pleased.

She spends a fair amount of time in the library, actually, reading... a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Mostly nonfiction books about Earth and Earth Stuff. Animals, cultures, customs, et cetera.

Later she heads to the kitchen, where she works on... she's baking something? Looks like brownies. She seems to be getting the hang of it, and is just... munching on some nutella toast while they're in the oven.

Her last stop is the gym, where she actually... doesn't use the punching bags, she just does a lot of standard exercises. Stretches, laps, all that good stuff. Allene's jacket, which she's been wearing all day, sits off to the side to make sure it stays safe. ]

[Leia happens to mosy into the kitchen in the afternoon, lured by the smell of something delicious baking. She half-expects to find Mabel in there, judging by the smell. She's...not expecting Jyn. She's especially not expecting Jyn with her hair down, looking...relaxed?

She goes to refresh her mug of caf, glancing over her shoulder at Jyn.]

You didn't strike me as the baking type. What's the occasion?

[ okay be cool be cool be cool dont just be like "I GOT SOME THATS WHAT" ]

Uh. I... wanted to make something for Allene.

[ You know, the woman whose jacket Jyn is wearing instead of her own right now. ]

Nice of you.

[She slides onto a stool, stirring milk into her coffee along with a little sugar. She notices the jacket. Don't think she doesn't. Just like she noticed how Poe Dameron's jacket now belongs to Finn.]

I'm glad for the two of you. You make a cute couple.

Thanks. She... makes me very happy.

I can tell.

[She has, it should be noted, been wearing that tiara with a fair amount of regularity.

Leia calmly sips her coffee, and then lowers the mug:]

Just so you can rest easy, I haven't been sleeping in my own room. No need to worry about keeping anyone up at night.

Well I've... been in Allene's mostly anyway, but good to know.

Fair enough. It's never bad to have options.

[Sips tea coffee.]

Your hair looks nice, by the way.

Oh, uh... thank you. [ runs a hand through it ] Allene wanted to take my hair tie.

[...that's Odd. Leia cocks her head.]

Does she have enough hair to make use of it?

[astronomics]

No? It was more of a. Symbolic thing, I think.

[ like the jackets ]

[She's barely bothering to hide the smirk on her lips at this point.]

Things must be getting serious.

[astronomics]

They... might be, yes.

Well, good. I've lived long enough to know that when you find a good thing like that...you ought to hold onto it.

[Her expression softens, a little.]

I'm glad for you. If anyone deserves a little happiness, it's you.

[astronomics]

I plan to. As long as I can.

[ she chuckles ]

I've gone a while without it.

So I've heard. [That's fucking sad but hey that aligns with pretty much everything Leia's experienced, so!]

Me, too. When we first got here, I was determined not to...get too attached to anyone. Clearly that didn't work out too well.

[astronomics]

[ Jyn chuckles. ]

I guess not, for either of us. I've never been half as good at not getting attached as I'd like to be.

One of the pitfalls of being human, I guess. Droids must have it so easy.

[astronomics]

I can only imagine. Though if you leave them alone for too long, they tend to get attached too.
