ENDGAME GROUP 1: The Other Box (Log 2)

[Off-screen, the groups manage to reunite themselves once more. More notable than anything else is the little black floating box, though if any of you have any information you wish to exchange, now would be an excellent time to do so.]

I know this isn’t exactly on the docket, but I intend on heading in there. You’re welcome to join if you’d like.

It's not even creative at this point, we were frozen in place in the end of our ritual, too.

ENOUGH TALKING!

[Cruella is rapidly trying to put out her coat at this point, and she's aware enough to notice what's happening around her. Her eyes briefly narrow at Elsa, but they quickly dart to Lefou.]

SYNDROME, BLAST HIM! NOW!

[Syndrome presses another button on his wrist, dropping them to the ground. After a second or so, inadvertently giving them time to reorient themselves, Syndrome charges up a projectile from his gauntlet.

He blasts a large ball of energy at Lefou...]

[ It all flashes through his mind in an instant.

"You're no hero, Gaston, you're just a lying, manipulative jerk!"

"He doesn't need anyone to defend him, but he sure as hell deserves it!"

"But how can I be a hero if I've already died saving someone like Lefou?"

"They'd know that you were a guy that was nice enough to die in the place of his best friend."

And suddenly Gaston knows what he has to do. ]

No!

[ The blast rips through the air, but it never reaches Lefou. Because Gaston is there instead, charging across the room, pushing aside anyone and anything in his way, and throwing himself in the path of Syndrome's attack. ]

Not Lefou!

-- DID THAT DUDE JUST DIE?!

WE MIGHT NEED SOME MAGIC RIGHT ABOUT NOW!

[It's a direct hit, and Gaston gets the full force of a miniature explosion knocking him back against the wall. Hard.

Everybody's free now, and Cruella calls out as Syndrome charges up the weapon again.]

STOP THEM NOW!

[Wander has no time to adjust his hat as he rushes over to where Gaston is laying. How bad does he look?]

but either way! you have cruella on the ground now, and she attempts to claw at marnie.]

[The moment Wendy hits the ground, she's rushing to tackle Syndrome.]

[A purple octopus comes outta nowhere and grabs Syndrome's ankles with its tentacles!]

[He had just barely had the chance to get up to his feet when he saw the attack coming at him, not enough time to dodge but enough to make sure that it was coming only at him. Time slows down, or at least it feels like it does, as he closes his eyes and flinches, waiting for the blast to rip through him.

But he hears Gaston yell.

And the pain never comes.

He opens his eyes just in time to see his old captain take the full force of the blast meant for him, and the scream rips out of him before he can stop it.]

NO!

[He'd been glad that Gaston had made it through his whole ritual without killing anyone. That he'd only really been truly tacky about the Prince after he died at someone else's hand. Gaston was improving, in short, incremental steps, he was actually turning around from the homicidal maniac that LeFou had last seen. The maniac who he'd been taunted with a potential vision of, in his ritual.

Gaston, LeFou had thought, could go home, find a new village. Be their provider. Maybe even their hero.

While nearly everyone else goes for the door, LeFou scrambles to Gaston, catching him and lowering him carefully to the floor, heedless of the fact that there might well be another blast coming hot on the heels of that one.]

Gaston! Gaston, you're- you're gonna be okay, it's okay.

[... Hey wait, LeFou's right. They were totally frozen, but that couldn't stop her from using her magic to help them escape. So this time should be no different, right?

Okay, just gotta focus... that weird beam freezing all of them is coming from... his hands? His gauntlets??? Either way, easy target. Elsa will try to call forth as much of her magic as she can, trying to encase everything up to Syndrome's elbows in solid ice. ]

[Cruella kind of...anticipates this, taking a quick glance over at Syndrome, kind of trying to knock his hands out of position.]

Do you think I hadn't heard what happened to Slim?

Should I start yelling again, in that case?

[If we're just doing this all over again.]

You're already sounding like nails on a chalkboard to me.

What a coincidence, it's the same for me.

[Sarcasm: the only thing she's learned from her friends.]

[Elsa doesn't say anything; she's not good at sarcastic, witty oneliners like the rest of her friends, so she'll just let her actions do the talking.

Said actions being continuing to focus on freezing whatever-it-is keeping them still. She doesn't need to aim her magic after all; she just needs to concentrate on what she wants to affect.]
