[Karolina and Mulan are dead. The first, and hopefully the last, deaths of your stay here. Hopefully their deaths won't be in vain. Your third week here starts on a solemn note, and the mood here has taken on a significant downward spiral. If it's any consolation (it isn't), you'll find that you have two new floors to explore...even if one of those floors has about twenty STAY OUT signs nailed to it.

I'm lookin' for our pet! He's been missin' since last night and I'm worried somethin' happened to him!

[A brow lifted, but otherwise he did his best to keep his face smooth.]

A pet, huh? Like a stray spider? Piece of dust? Didn't think we could have pets here.

A snaaaaaayke? Sounds tasty. [Maui was next to certain that it was a lie of some sort, that he was still talking about Heihei, but with Wander? Who could really tell?]

I'll keep an eye out for it, I guess. And I probably won't eat it. I'm pretty good with animals, you know? [That was definitely a lie, bonding with anything mortal was difficult. But maybe it would help Wander relax.]

[Wander looks so upset. Maybe he's going to cry and guilt Maui about eating animals he finds around the house, how about that?]

[Oh no. Is the kid trying to guilt him into telling the truth. Come on, if he could stand up to Moana, he could totally -- ]

Listen. I don't know about snakes but I... found a chicken. Wandering around.

... In your room. He's, uh... He belongs to a friend of mine so I... snagged him back.

[There's a brief hint of a smile before Wander returns to the guilt trip face. No one ever said that that Wander can't be a passive aggressive troll at times.]

Your friend? I was told you hated a certain chicken, but you went out of your way to save him for that friend?

I mean -- [He sighed.] I kind of hate you sometimes, but I'd save you if anything happened. He's annoying, but he's still a friend. And right now, he's the only tie I have to home.

Besides. He's too skinny to eat, and too stupid to fatten up.

[He keeps up the big eyes, but he allows a smile to grow on his face.]

You mean it? I can take care of him until we all go home? [Ideally Wander would take Heihei on his space adventures but Maui's friend would be sad. Oh yeah, and Sylvia would complain.]

I didn't -- [But those darn eyes!!!!]

We can trade off. Every other night, you can have him. He seemed real upset about leaving you.

[Cute shiny eyes. It never fails.]

Thank you! [He jumps up and grabs Maui's leg for a hug.] Thank you, thank you, thank you a bunch! I promise I'll take good care of him, feed him lots, talk to him, you'll never see a happier chicken!

You two are a match made by the gods. [Two big-eyed, stupid creatures bonding with one another. How quaint.]

Alright, then, come on. Let's go get him. I swear he hasn't stopped screaming.

[He lets go and heads towards the rooms, arms swinging with his bouncy steps. Everything is okay and there's no reason to be upset anymore!]

We're comin' for you, Honey Nut!

First thing's first. [Maui trundled after Wander, his large steps easily keeping up with Wander's boisterous ones]

It's Heihei, not Honey Nut. Not my decision, that's just the name he came with. Secondly? Don't let him near water, okay. He will drown himself.

Both can work, most folks call him Honey Nut 'round here. [It's just a name, easily replaced.] I can call him Heihei with you.

[He stops in front of Maui's room bouncing on his toes and watching him expectantly. Holy shit he's so excited to see the chicken again.]

No. No, no no. If we're sharing the chicken, we're calling him Heihei. It's his name. I'm pretty sure he knows it, and I'm not -- ['Dishonoring Moana.' As if he cared about her or something. Yikes.]

It's Heihei.

[A pair of thick arms crossed over Maui's chest. He could open the door easily enough, but he wasn't going to until he Wander agreed with him.]

[Wander frowns. It's their chicken, why can't he be called by many names? Honey Nut is cuter.]

Oooor we can call him both and see which one he prefers! [He swings his fist excitedly.]

I'm not going to change the name of the chicken for everyone else. If I started calling you Shortstack, would it be okay for someone to force you to forget Wander?

I'm cool with that! Not like folks everywhere are gonna call me Wander.
