WEEK 3
[Karolina and Mulan are dead. The first, and hopefully the last, deaths of your stay here. Hopefully their deaths won't be in vain. Your third week here starts on a solemn note, and the mood here has taken on a significant downward spiral. If it's any consolation (it isn't), you'll find that you have two new floors to explore...even if one of those floors has about twenty STAY OUT signs nailed to it.
23 guests remain.]
[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]

SUNDAY
no subject
... No, we have to try. They wouldn't want us to be like this, right?
So when WALL-E rolls out, he's playing Put on Your Sunday Clothes again, though at a slightly softer volume than last week. It's okay guys, it's Sunday. Things are gonna look up from here.
Eventually, the little robot makes their way to the room containing the vending machine, and... ends up with clothes? Well then, this only fits the idea of "putting on your sunday clothes when you feel down and out", doesn't it? As such, anyone who comes in will find WALL-E attempting to put on a dress and one of the hats he's gotten. How nice!]

Sure, she wants to break out of here now more then ever, but the past few days have been rough. So Wendy isn't exactly in as high spirits as usual. Still, she makes her way over to the game room to do something she's been putting off for weeks: use the slot machine.
It's pretty interesting, the first few things she gets. A weird mallet, some gloves? Food too.
And then an entire dead zebra falls out of the machine, and Wendy is rendered speechless... for a few seconds before she throws up her hands.]
COME ON, MAN! WHAT THE HECK!
[Later, much later, Wendy can be found in the kitchen. She's munching absentmindedly on some of the gains from the slot machine, except for a particular can of beans sitting on the table before her. She's keeping a close eye on that.]

She briefly heads to the game room, having found some of the mysterious tokens needed to operate the slot machine, and her spoils are . . . well.
Taking her cue from Wander, Julia sets up in the conservatory afterward with a small sign that says Please take what's yours. She's sitting nearby, carefully recopying her relatively messy, hastily scribbled notes about people's songs into legible music.]

She thinks maybe there were some clues they missed, because they were looking for something else. Keeping in mind the story that Mulan told about how it all happened, Kiara takes to the kitchen first thing in the morning for another look. Any traps or tricks were probably cleaned up along with the body, but she has to see.
She spends a good long time sniffing and pawing at the floor (tiles?) around the sink and the countertop, where the accident happened.]

MONDAY
no subject
He takes a good meander through each of the new rooms, poking his nose in every nook and cranny, occasionally jotting down something in his notebook, which appears to be alarmingly full.
Later on in the evening, he retires to the study, settling into one of the overstuffed, dusty wingback armchairs to study his latest draws from the slot machine. Each item gets a good going over, inspected for hidden buttons if applicable, or hidden pockets. Anything not obvious to the casual viewer. Of course, he comes up with very little, except for a hunch as to the owner of the oar. He sips his apple cinnamon brew, which is somehow still frozen despite having been in that slot machine, and begins drawing up a new character sheet on the off chance someone agrees to play DDnMD with him.]

The thought won't leave Wander alone, and to be frank, he wants to go inside to spite everyone. Show them that they aren't the boss of him. No sign can deter Wander.
But. It could be dangerous. People here depend on him. No, he can't go in. But that doesn't make it any less frustrating. What's in the attic? What's in the attic?
You may find Wander sitting in front of the attic door, glaring at the multiple KEEP OUT messages looking frustrated. His hand slides under his hat, where he's scratching the fur atop his head.
You know what? Forget this. He needs to go out and find something else to obsess over, like the Seance Room which is filled with all sorts of amazing things. After looking into the crystal ball (haha his face looks funny) he picks up every dark tome he finds like it's a pretty rock, lies on the floor, and goes through the pages.]
Look at these drawings! Someone put a lotta effort into these books!
[After a while, he's relegated himself into building a tower using all the tarot cards he can find.]

But when she runs up them, she finds herself on another floor of the mansion.]
Wait, what?
[She turns and looks down at the first floor from the top of the once endless stairs. Just like that, it was over. It felt kinda hollow, really.
Exploring the second floor, Star finds the seance room pretty quickly, and is immediately drawn to the crystal ball.]
Oh my gosh!
[Star runs to the crystal ball and places her hands on it. It's a long shot, but she's gotta try.]

She had deserved better.
It was the reminder that there were still more little girls out there that roused him on Monday. His first stop was the kitchen, where he grabbed nearly every egg for the carton and set to scrambling them up. When he believed no one was looking, Maui snuck the plate out to the dining room. Someone had to watch over them.
Later in the day, Maui would return to the kitchen, gathering up a can of corn (which was broken open against the counter, rather than opened properly), and the left over egg shells were collected. Though Maui was looking for one thing, one chicken in particular, any member of the house could stumble upon him, laying out food and making... rather obnoxious chicken sounds.
Finally, Maui wound up at what was formerly the endless staircase.. Placing his hands on his hips, he peered up the stairwell, before loudly declaring: I DID IT!

When she stops in the music room, she takes her time to examine the instruments, to wipe some of the dust on them and see how they play, but then... pauses, as if waiting for something. She's read some ghost stories before, and in almost all of them, the ghosts usually like to taunt humans by playing a piano or other nearby instrument. So maybe....?]
Are any of Ezra's friends here? I'd like to meet you too, if you don't mind.
[She has... somewhat of an ulterior motive this time. She wants to see if she can find the ghosts of the other people in the portraits, but she actually has real questions this time. Or rather, one question...
Later on in the day, she finds herself in the ballroom, and while her smile doesn't light up, it's there. Everyone needed a pick-me-up, right? She has an idea, but she's not sure if it'll work. She can tell something is up with her magic; when she'd made the little ice dragon for Sophie's memorial, she'd tried to breathe life into it, like Olaf and Marshmallow. But it had stayed just a (finely sculpted) piece of ice, so... it seems they've limited her somehow.
But what she had in mind... that should be okay, right?
So she waits for some others to arrive first (and keeps a special eye out for her sister, who she knows will love what she has planned), and when someone shows up, she smiles and speaks up.]
Do you like ice skating?

He spend a bit of time in the music room, sliding up and down string instruments, whistling a little tune. He isn't an expert, but he's a bit of a musical man and is curious to see what he can do with this.
He only peaks into the seance room before tsking in disapproval (no need for that nonsense). Perhaps he'd spend some time disparaging that particular room if he didn't encounter a much more pressing matter.
Billiards.
A room of billiards. A billiards room with pool. A room where people use a pool table to play pool.

Before long, he's dragging whatever objects he can carry, from pillowcases to tissues to what have you, and stuffing them into the pockets.]

And so she can be found at the Seance Room this late morning, standing over the crystal ball. After a few moments she clears her throat and... actually starts speaking to the ball.]
Oh, mystical beings beyond our realm, surely there must be some way out of out of this grop forsaken mansion. If you'll just lend me your time for just a few moments I'm sure we can make a deal!
[She feels so stupid doing this, but she's getting desperate.
Later, she's found in the Kitchen, doing what appears to be kneading some bread dough. Or, more accurately, practically throttling the dough while muttering alien swears under her breath. Being trapped in in a murder house like this is really starting to build her anger up like you wouldn't believe. She needed to do something productive to let out her pent up anger before she starts lashing out at everyone.]

MOTIVE: Take Your Loved Ones By The Hand, Please
He is, once again, displeased. For a man who participated in that sham of a trial, he does seem incredibly annoyed about all of these.]
My employer was greatly pleased by the results of the last motive. As a result, they have decided to raise the stakes.
[He pauses, torn.]
Just...open your envelope. You'll see what I mean.
[He vanishes, once again leaving the box for each competitor.
Every envelope contains a covertly-taken polaroid photograph of a character's loved one(s). What exactly that means is left open to interpretation.]

Wander had not slept well, and with the new photo, the added anxiety compels him to skip breakfast and spend most of the day running around the mansion opening drawers, looking under furniture, climbing on top of bookcases, all while yelling:]
Honey Nut? Honey Nuuuuut! Where are you, ya little rascal? It's about time you headed back home! [He's trying to be optimistic, that the chicken is safe and just scared and hiding, but as time goes on, his searching grows frantic, even panicked.]
C'mon, Honey Nut, you've got to show up. Don't tell you you've run away from home and gotten yourself stuck somewhere. Just a little cluck? A game of Hot or Cold? [A hah. hahaha. Please don't be dead, therapy chicken. Wander walks up to you when he spots you.] Have you seen Honey Nut around? He's been missin' since last night.
[In the evening, he's found in the kitchen sitting on a stool, watching a pot as he brings it to boil. He has a box of tea bags and sugar next to him for some good old-fashioned Space Georgia iced tea. That'll help everyone feel better.]

IT'S HAUNTED PIANO TIME
She hasn't checked upstairs yet, even though she's seen people successfully climb the stairs now, so she decides that's what she should do instead of just. Being useless. Of course, none of the other rooms matter once she sees the music room. More specifically, once she sees the piano. She immediately sits, running her fingers over the keys but not quite playing anything.]

More like on the floor, counter, IN the bowl she'd taken out from the cupboard along with some utensils here and there. You see, she was honestly trying to make some kind of cookies but when you haven't really made them yourself in a kitchen that's very much more advanced than first expecting? This kind of thing happened. Though she doesn't look bothered by it, adding some sugar to the bowl with a soft hum.
If anyone looks closely at one of the cleaner parts of the counter they'll see a photo with a handsome, blond man in it. ]
There--! That should do it!
[ She has no idea what she's doing here. Her dress has white splotches of flour on it along some on her one cheek but that doesn't mean she isn't enjoying at least TRYING to do this.
Maybe someone should actually show her how this is done.. ]

Think back to the war! Blood, explosions...
He thinks of Elsa, alone and covered in her sister's blood, holed up in her room, and aches with a chill from head to toe that's not because of her magic. If she hadn't come with him, she could have been... He could have lost her too. And the Host's words still burn at him.
If I find it, I'll have it delivered to you personally.
And what had he said?? Fine? Nothing about this was fine! Anna was dead, her head was missing, and he'd said if he found it - where the hell could it be?! It was a human head! His breath comes short and gasping, and he has to untie his bow to let air in his lungs, tilting his head back and staring at the ceiling as he tries to breathe. He can't do this- he can't, he has to get someone to clean up Anna, he has to check on Elsa and clean his shirt and start figuring out what to do with the body--
Sometime later, once the body is either taken care of or in more capable hands, he's outside Elsa's door, carefully attaching the notebook from his bedroom (with the pages he'd already scribbled on torn out, obviously) to the wall next to her door, with a pen hanging from it by a thread.]
((And I'll reply to this with a comment for the wake once the body is better sorted out.))

THURSDAY
no subject
So that's why he's in the kitchen this morning. There's a pan of bacon and a pan of home fries sizzling on the stove (separate, because he knows at least one person among his housemates doesn't eat meat). There is also a large pot that seems to be full of some sort of corn mush. This place didn't have proper grits but folks from outside the south tend to like corn cereal better anyway in his experience.
He can't fix the main problem they're all dealing with but he can at the very least try and make it easier to keep going. Even a temporary fix is better than nothing and it gives him something to ground him. He needs that. It's not that he's not absolutely terrified, it's that he's trying to fuel his fear toward something productive. It didn't work for him in Gravity Falls but he is darn well going to try and make it work here.]
Take what you like. You can leave your dishes when you're done, I don't mind doin' them. Got to keep busy, y'know.
[He isn't cheery, exactly. It'd be impossible to be right now. But he is trying.]
