[Tadashi, Sophie, and Princess Anna are dead. By now, maybe you're realizing that this plays is way more dangerous than you have ever feared, but don't worry, maybe some hope will come along the way.

For example, if anyone tries to open the Conservatory Door leading outside starting this week, they'll find that they finally have access to the graveyard and outside. You are now freely able to leave the mansion whenever you want.

Maybe you can all finally leave this place...?

[Lefou doesn't need more alcohol to relax when there's music to be had and dancing to be done (but he did float over to steal a couple more sips, at least), delighted by the change in atmosphere and in getting others to play along.

But when he spins to face Ford, throwing his arms out in delight, his face is flush with exertion and his grin wide enough to show off the gap in his teeth.]

[Look at that big old grin. That's what Ford likes to see. He bows surprisingly low for a man his age, and holds out a hand.]

Excellent. I'll follow your lead. I can match just about any step you throw my way.

[Lefou all but sparkles with mischief, as he hovers his hand over Ford's and bows deeply in kind.]

Cocky for an older fellow, aren't you?

[If you were hoping for a slow dance, that's definitely not the next song that plays. He starts out by finding the rhythm, clapping and stomping his foot on the down beat. The heels of his shoes tap against the floor as he jumps, both feet apart, then scuffs the ball of his right foot forward and hops on the left. Then he gives Ford a chance to mirror him.]

More than you'd think.

[Oh, there's a whole lot of mischief in this 'old fellow's' eyes, alright, as he watches the step Lefou demonstrates for him. It takes him a second to catch up, but true to his word, he's able to mimic it pretty well for his first time.]

Some things only get better with age, you see.

I can see that! You almost act like you've done this before.

[He does the next step, which is just as flamboyant and energetic and fun as the first, and adds in an extra couple of steps.]

Well, you visit enough universes—

[He goes right ahead and mimics the next step, adding in his own little flair at the end just the same.]

You pick up a few things. And people.

Ooh, "and people?" It sounds like you've had all sorts of adventures.

[This time there's a couple of cross steps and a spin.]

[Ford's own spin is strangely graceful for a man of his size. This is a good dance. He's digging it.]

Would you believe me if I told you that in some universes, being a 'confirmed bachelor' is the default?

[Lefou's giddy with a partner who can match him step for step; this time instead of pausing he's going to keep going. Try to keep up, Ford.]

Not unless you promise to take me there to prove it, after we get out of here.

Don't make me make you a promise I will absolutely keep.

[There's mischief in his grin as he works double time to keep up with each step, now; they're not perfect but he's matching each one, at least, and having a damn good time of it.]

It couldn't hurt just to visit... Just to see what's out there beyond the walls of Villeneuve.

[Oh god he's sounding like Belle.

He laughs cheerfully, glancing down at Ford's feet as they dance.]

Don't worry, you're getting it!

More than you'd ever imagine, my boy.

[Ford chuckles, and his face is probably just pink from the booze and the dancing, right?]

Not too bad for an old coot, am I?

[He's speechless at the "my boy," and he doesn't have the excuse of alcohol to explain the way he flushes pink from his ears to his neck when he looks up at his face.]

Coot? When did I ever imply you were such a thing?

[As the song comes to an end, he ends the dance with a gracious bow.]

The turn of phrase is entirely my own, I assure you.

[Ford returns the bow with a sweeping gesture, and then catches Lefou's hand and places a brief kiss atop it in a fit of pique.]

Thank you for the dance, m'sieur. Vous êtes très charmant.

[Listen, he knows a few languages.]

[His breath catches in his chest at the kiss to his hand, that brief flushing falling flying feeling that he had at the ball when Stanley had traded partners and ended up straight in his arms.

Ohhhhhh mon dieu.

I'm flattered, such a compliment coming from a man so handsome and charming as you.

[Look at this boy. Look at him. He's so adorable. Ford needs to find him a nice suitable young man to pair up with, because he deserves so much more than a frankly slutty old man.]

[He straightens up with a beaming smile on his face. He feels almost young again.]

[Ford shakes his head slowly, his smile fading into a smirk.]

[Ford leans in close, murmuring in Lefou's ear.]

I'm old enough to be your grandfather, you know.

You are not. My father, maybe.

[Ford shakes his head, slow, smirking, and pulls back.]

I'll be seventy next year.

[toogoodforhim]

I'll be thirty at the harvest moon, so you would've had to get an early start to be my grandfather.

You know, you're pretty spry for sixty-nine.

If I had a son at twenty, and he had a son at twenty, it'd work. Which, I wager in your time, isn't so uncommon.

[Ford smirks down at the younger man.]

I keep myself plenty busy, so I've stayed in decent shape.

[toogoodforhim]

Mm, I can see that. [In regard to the staying in shape thing. Pick somebody who'd had a decent father figure in his life if you want to ward him off with your age.]

It's not unusual for a man my age to be unmarried or childless, either. You know, bachelor status aside and everything.

[Nobody bat an eye at Gaston fresh into his thirties chasing a 20-year-old.]
