[You find yourself waking in a large dressing room, incredibly spacious, but in intense disarray. The bed is comfortable enough, and each room seems to be equipped with a working bathroom and shower, so it's at least livable. But aesthetically, the place has hit the floor.

The horrifying clock mounted on the wall reads 9 am. After enough searching, you'll find a large tourist-y map of the studio on one of the dressers. An ominous note attached to the map with a paperclip reads "12PM WAITING AREA". It's not like you have any choice in the matter, seeing as there doesn't seem to be any way out.

Upon exiting the dressing room, you note a crooked star attached to the door bearing your name. There are 24 others like this, bearing names that you may or may not recognize. A quick tour around the studio reveals it to be in a similar state of disrepair, but something doesn't sit...right with you. Though the place is certainly creepy, you get strange vibes as you explore the building. As you move about the dust-filled halls of the abandoned building, you may spot movement out of the corner of your eye, or hear strange noises from behind you. It's nothing to be worried about, though...right?

At the very least, you'll find some comfort. The projection room and attached theater still seem to be in working order, though you'll have to manually grab one of the reels off the wall and start the thing yourself. In addition, the waiting area and lounge are both filled with reading materials, and the later features a large stage and a microphone. The commissary seems to replenish itself with food whenever you take your eyes off of it, ensuring that we won't be going hungry anytime soon. There are also cabinets full of ingredients and a small kitchen should you not trust whatever your benefactor is placing out for you.

Fortunately for them, the smaller individuals amongst your party won't find a great deal of difficulty moving around. Though their beds remain oversized, there seem to be appropriately-sized staircases and escalators placed about in appropriate spots, so as to make their lives easier. After all, they can't just keep relying on the others to get up to the cabinets and such, can they?

While you're waiting to find out what the deal here is, you might as well come out and socialize.]

More of a talking insect, really now.

[Wince.] Oh, uh- s-sorry, I never really...worked out the difference. I've never met a b- an insect who can talk.

Can't say I see what's so unusual about it. Every insect I know talks plenty. Especially cousin Wilbur.

It's...weird, but I guess it's nice to meet you, Mister Insect. I'm Kimberly, uh... [She's halfway to reaching out for a handshake but her hand is like...as big as him.]

[He probably would've shaken her finger or something, but he'll be polite and tip his hat appropriately.]

Pleasure to meet ya. Jiminy Cricket, at your service.

[A cricket, that's what he is! ...Aren't they still bugs? She's...just going to be polite, shooing that thought away with a nice little smile.]

Well, Mr. Jiminy then, I don't suppose you have any idea where we are, huh?

[He looks around again, scratching his head curiously.]

Can't say I do. If I had to guess from the surroundings, and I don't mean to alarm anyone, but it almost seems like... a theater.

[THUNDER CLAP]

Duh, I mean besides that. [be nice] I got the creepy theater part down, just not where exactly. ...No one else seems to know either, or be from here at all.

Its certainly got a lot of expensive looking... things lying around. What with the food and the lights and all that. [S-Cal-Lators or whatever they're called for the little guys.]

That makes the place even more suspicious. Even if we hadn't woken up all kidnapped, creepy old theaters are bad news. Always.

[You got good instincts, Kim.]

Never trust a theater or any abandoned place that hooligans would go to, that's what I always say.

[Kimberly Ann Hart is a good kid, who only goes to abandoned places when there's a monster to fight.

His gumption makes her laugh briefly.] You're a pretty moral cricket, aren't ya?

[He puff up in pride. Someone noticed!!!]

Course! Way I see it, there's people who do things right and people who do things foolish. Comes in handy to be right, in my line of work.

[This is your chance to change the subject and avoid lots of bragging Kimberly.]

[...She's stumbled down an unfortunate path hasn't she.]

That so? [A little laugh, again, this one kind of nervous.] What...kind of work do you have, anyway?

Well, golly, I'm glad you asked! [He takes a suspicious amount of Extra Effort to show off his little shiny gold badge on his little vest.]

I'm an Official Conscience, of course! Blue Fairy herself said I was the best cricket for the job.

[You know, in spite of the pride working against him.]

Aren't those s'pposed to be inside someone's head? And not...another talkin' thing?

Well... yes, I suppose. But its good to have a second opinion. And so I come!

And you work for a fairy? As other people's reminder not to mess up? Wow... Can't say I've heard of anything like that before.

[He tries to open up with a defense.

But nah.]

To be totally honest, it took some getting used to myself. Never believed in stuff like wishing on stars and magical spirits until recently.

[Said the talking cricket.]

[...She'll refrain from that commentary.]

Oh, definitely, first time I saw anything mystical or magical I thought I'd gone nutso.

Its certainly takes a bit to rejigger your head around. What with all the good and the bad that's done with it.

[On one hand, hot fairies and helpful mentors. On the other hand, horrible donkey transformations and Rita Repulsa in general]

Especially all the bad.

[Have you ever been hit by a love spell before? Or a jealousy spell? ...Or a punk spell? Or a nightmare spell...

None of the spells are good.]

[Punk spells sounds kind of metal tho.

His moralizing side is kind of impressed with that last comment.]

You seem like a got a good head on yer shoulders, miss. If this is more magical hooplah, that's a good trait to keep a hold of.
