THE MOCK WEEK

[You find yourself waking in a large dressing room, incredibly spacious, but in intense disarray. The bed is comfortable enough, and each room seems to be equipped with a working bathroom and shower, so it's at least livable. But aesthetically, the place has hit the floor.

The horrifying clock mounted on the wall reads 9 am. After enough searching, you'll find a large tourist-y map of the studio on one of the dressers. An ominous note attached to the map with a paperclip reads "12PM WAITING AREA". It's not like you have any choice in the matter, seeing as there doesn't seem to be any way out.

Upon exiting the dressing room, you note a crooked star attached to the door bearing your name. There are 24 others like this, bearing names that you may or may not recognize. A quick tour around the studio reveals it to be in a similar state of disrepair, but something doesn't sit...right with you. Though the place is certainly creepy, you get strange vibes as you explore the building. As you move about the dust-filled halls of the abandoned building, you may spot movement out of the corner of your eye, or hear strange noises from behind you. It's nothing to be worried about, though...right?

At the very least, you'll find some comfort. The projection room and attached theater still seem to be in working order, though you'll have to manually grab one of the reels off the wall and start the thing yourself. In addition, the waiting area and lounge are both filled with reading materials, and the later features a large stage and a microphone. The commissary seems to replenish itself with food whenever you take your eyes off of it, ensuring that we won't be going hungry anytime soon. There are also cabinets full of ingredients and a small kitchen should you not trust whatever your benefactor is placing out for you.

Fortunately for them, the smaller individuals amongst your party won't find a great deal of difficulty moving around. Though their beds remain oversized, there seem to be appropriately-sized staircases and escalators placed about in appropriate spots, so as to make their lives easier. After all, they can't just keep relying on the others to get up to the cabinets and such, can they?

While you're waiting to find out what the deal here is, you might as well come out and socialize.]

[She looks at the list herself.] Huh...some of these are from my time, I think, so it makes sense you wouldn't recognize them.

Ohhh, future music? [She takes a step back.] Pick me out your favorite thing. What do people listen to twenty years in the future?

[She flips through the CDs.] Well...here's one my mom used to put on a lot. [It's a pretty peppy rock song, good for dancing to.] I'm pretty sure I know the lyrics by heart now. [Mun does not want to go searching for actual music right now, haha.]

[NO WORRIES HANDWAVE AHOY] Ohhh... This is kinda nice. A bit more... Aha, it's a lil' weird, but I like it. [She lets it play as she looks through other song books.] What'd really be good? If we had some instruments.

I don't really play any instruments, unless you count the recorder training I got in music class. You know how to play?

A few things. It's all casual, but I've got a guitar and I write and play sometimes. Wouldn't it be a cool distraction?

You can write music too? That's pretty cool, actually. I can do poetry at best.

Oh, it's nothing that big, just...some melodies. I'm so bad with lyrics, you've got that up on me!

Still, I'd like to hear those. Do you think they have any instruments in the prop room? [She already checked out the sound stage, and it was a mess.]

Uhhh, ha, noooo. Unless you count a singing sword. But I do not.

A...singing sword?

Sounds like Frank Sinatra.

...wow. Yeah, probably not the best instrument in this case then.

[She can't help but giggle.]

So not. Ohhh, this just makes me wanna find something to sing more, any requests on genre? [Flipping through the song books, already kind of humming a nonsense tune.]

Do they have protest songs of any sort in there? Dunno if the judge would want to actually keep them around.

[She snaps and points at Tip, genius!] That is a good idea. Ohhh, let's seeeee. [Her voice is already getting sing-song. Every time she's been kidnapped she's never...had the opportunity to have some kind of fun too.

So that's pretty nice.] Hmmm, aha! [She grins.] This is a little out of my style, but it's perfect, and it's a pretty good song too. You might know it.

[...And thus, because I could not avoid the easy joke, we start up We're Not Gonna Take It by The Duke of Detroit Twisted Sister. Kim is......incredibly not metal, but she's got a good singing voice and has some fun.]

[It takes a bit for Tip to get into the rhythm, but soon enough she's singing along as well, even pumping her fist in the air. Her voice gets louder and louder as she gets more into it.]

WE'RE NOT GONA TAKE IT.....ANYMOOOOOOORE!

[pinkflip]

[Whoa, spirit! Kim grins and claps.] Yeah, Tip, whoo! You go, c'mon!

[She'll more or less be backup. ...Getting someone else to feel good about herself is more Kim's speed, anyway.]
