[The whole trial thing must feel like the norm to everyone right now, and one can't help but wonder if this will keep happening until everyone has died.

There are three new epitaphs for Star Butterfly, Maui, and Fiddleford.

Here lies Star Butterfly
One of our most toughest girls
Went out with a pretty twirl

Here lies Maui
Claimed to be a great demigod
But it turns out he was a fraud

Here lies Fiddleford McGucket
He tried to wipe his mind
And ended up getting left behind

Well you all know what to do by now, huh?]

[Naminé's hug is unexpected but wholly welcome; Ford lets his arms wrap around her, squeezing her, letting her presence comfort him. She's his best girl, still, and really, he has her to thank for what might have been the happiest week of his life.]

[He won't, really, but he can't let her know that.]

[ The thing is... she doesn't believe him for a second. But this is very much not the time for that. For now, she'll let him pretend, because she knows they cannot afford to fall apart here. Not now. It hurts, knowing that he's lying for some reason--for himself, for her? She doesn't know--but...

[She really is a good girl. Ford is so grateful to have someone like Naminé at his side. Someone who understands that sometimes the best thing is to just stand by and be present. It's a lesson Ford has learned slowly over the course of this miserable two months.]
