Week 3

[Three people are dead in the span of one day. Two of which did absolutely nothing to deserve their gruesome deaths. Hopefully, no matter how silly this hope is, it's the last of the deaths in this hotel.

But maybe it's not all bad now? When people awake this Sunday, they will find that the door for 225 is now open, and for some reason leads to a bunch of cool new rooms to explore! Maybe this would be a great opportunity to bond over each other to make sure no one else dies again.

And no one else will die again, right?

MOTIVE: Living Doll

I require your attendance in the library once again.

[When the guests arrive in the library, The Narrator is once again already in the room, this time looking at an old doll that one or two of you might recognize contemplatively. Once everyone arrives, he sets the doll down on a nearby desk.]

My benefactor was very satisfied by the events of last week, so motives will now be a common occurrence until further notice.

[He gestures over to the doll.]

This is Talky Tina, a doll that can do anything. She can talk, she can move, she almost appears to be alive.

[Suddenly, as if on cue, the doll moves her head towards the guests.]

She has a bit of a mind of her own, and a short tempered mind at that. She already isn’t fond of you as guests, so I would be careful around her if I were you.

And if no one kills by Friday… well, Talky Tina won’t be happy if that happens.

[ooc: Basically, for those who haven’t seen the episode, Talky Tina will randomly appear around the building, giving them both regular threats and death threats. She is also completely indestructible if anyone gets their hands on her, so no cheating out of this motive!

You can either have her pop up in threads by yourself or we will randomly threadjack threads (unless you want to opt out of threadjacks) with your favorite doll.]

[... So Joshua may or may not have ended up sleeping for most of Saturday, but Sunday has him up and in the kitchen. This time, he manages to make some toast and eggs for himself... and coffee. Can't go without coffee.

Once he's eaten though, he is absolutely checking out those new rooms, and what ends up getting his attention is the movie room. He can be found sitting in here watching different episodes: One For The Angels, Time Enough At Last... and of course, The Obsolete Man.

[Merlin seems a little more energetic today but not by much. After the events of the trial and Finnick's sudden death, he's more determined to find an escape. He doesn't want anything else to happen to the people trapped here, and the wizard has his own business back home to attend to of course. Who else could guide Arthur?

With the new rooms opening up, he's inclined to explore. He checks out the pool but does not trust the water. Everything else in the hotel was nasty why wouldn't this be?]

Hmph!

[The wizard moves onto the first aid and janitor's closet. It feels insulting to have these open now. Perhaps they could have saved their friends. Either way, he spends a long time here, searching for anything that might help. He makes it a point to organize what supplies are available in case someone gets hurt.

Finally, he spends time in the ballroom. Something about it seems off to him, but the man is old and crazy so don't overthink it. He walks back and forth along the walls in the room as if searching for something.]

Hmm.....

[After the events of the last day or so, Oswald is definitely in a somber mood when he gets up this morning. Again, he takes to the kitchen today to handle breakfast. Today's treat is flapjacks! He's actually... pretty graceful with them too.

Of course, he ends up wandering to the new section of the hotel after a while, checking out the rooms. He regards the pool for a little while, just standing at the edge, peering into the clear depths of it, hands behind his back. Please don't push him.

But what really catches his attention is... the movie room. You might hear his sound of surprise as he comes across it. Just as soon as he's in here, he's rushing back out towards his room, coming back with a film reel in his arms that only Thalia will probably recognize.

Who wants to watch a cartoon with Oswald? Because that's what he's doing.]

[When Oswald sleeps that night, he'll find himself somewhere else.

It's a small, but cozy Irish Pub. The warmth of the building a stark contrast to the old worn hotel Oswald has lived in these past couple of weeks.

At one of the tables, there is a very familiar man sitting down, seemingly waiting for Oswald with a warm smile on his face.]

It's been a long time, Oswald.

[theduck]

[To be honest, Donald would be a lot more excited about the pool if it wasn't so... like that. And also if he didn't think the water was poisoned, which he absolutely thinks. Still, he spends a few minutes (or. hours?) just lounging around it and sighing heavily. As if he needed something else to add to his lousy attitude.

But after that he channels his disappointment into determination and sort of goes on a mission. During the late afternoon he can be found sifting through the cleaning supplies, trying to judge if he can guess what chemicals you use to clean a pool? Don't worry, he probably won't get himself (or anyone else) killed. It's fine.]

[When Merlin sleeps that night, he will find himself somewhere else.

I'm guessing Merlin has at least a passing knowledge of pubs, with his time travel powers. This one seems just like any other pub, although something feels mystical about this whole place.

There is also a man sitting at one of the tables, seemingly waiting for someone.

[Well, Saturday was absolutely awful and emotionally exhausting. Maybe Sunday will be better.

Goofy's currently in the kitchen baking all sorts of cookies, trying to take his mind off of everything. Although, when the cookies are done they're completely burnt.

So if anyone wants Goofy's absolutely shitty cookies come and get them.]

[Amanda is . . . used to things that aren't what they seem. Why does room 225 lead to a bunch of other rooms? Who knows. Why does the interior of Cinderella's castle contain an extremely dangerous unfinished attraction called Escher's Keep? Well, actually the answer to that is Kingdom Keepers is stupid but.

At any rate, she's barely surprised when she ends up in the ballroom. She doesn't spend a lot of time in there at first, doing a cursory check of all the other new rooms before she circles back and sits at one of the tables, staring at the ceiling. She's still not quite over the trial, and at least the ballroom is quiet.

While she's doing a check of all the other rooms, Amanda spends the most time in first aid, taking inventory. She . . . has had to learn a lot, over the years, and it's good to at least know what she has to work with. At least Thalia and Reyna can bandage their hands with real bandages now.]

[She came in here to get food and is instead greeted with . . . this . . .]

Um. I think your cookies are burning?

[Oswald would have rather been anywhere but that hotel, after the dreadful events that befell some of their group. He would rather be waking up in his bed in the Dark Beauty Castle, but even something cozy like this pub puts a tinge on his mood. It's new though, there's that.

...Then, he hears a voice that he hasn't heard for so long, he almost forgot just what it sounded like. But he could never forget that tone, that smile.

The statue on Mean Street really was a nice likeness. He'd done his best to make it so. And now... now, Oswald isn't a mature ruler. He's a confused Toon, standing before his... father. He doesn't even know where to begin, his expression is nothing short of the greatest confusion.]

I-I'm.... dreaming. That's... There's no way...!

[Ratigan could use some time wasting, mostly because it's starting to sink in that maybe his stay is being extended. He's just riding his big ass cat again into the room as Time Enough at Last is playing.]

[He doesn't have any clue what he's doing and also he hasn't even TRIED one of his creations yet.]

[He chuckles lightly, motioning for Oswald to sit next to him.]

You are in fact dreaming, but that doesn't mean none of this is real.

[He approaches almost cautiously, just a hint of excitement starting to poke through.]

Is it... really you? [He sighs.] I can't be that lucky, can I?

Indeed it is. Would you and your companion like to join us?

It really is me.

[He suddenly frowns at Oswald, looking a little sorrowful.]

I'm sorry you're in all of this. You never deserved this.

[The addition of new rooms is a godsend. Sure, the first floor isn't horrible and he could probably find something else to do down there, but exploring a new set of rooms is a good thing to take his mind off of the last couple days.

He peeks into each room at least once, but stops to linger more in the first aid room and pool. It's not the same as the ocean, but he feels like he hasn't gone swimming in about a year. Though the pool area is about as well kept as the rest of the hotel, and he's not sure if he would enjoy swimming in water that's been sitting there for who knows how long.

In the other room, he can be found looking through the medications, searching for a particular one. Most of it is over-the-counter, but he's not sure if adrenaline was ever an over-the-counter drug.

He can also be found in the movie room, checking out the (new) movies. Anything is better than Treasure Island, and maybe there are some films he's familiar with.]

. . . Have you tasted one yet? Because these look, um. A little overdone?

[She doesn't want to straight up insult one of the Fab Five but also, like. Those cookies don't look good.]

You... [He trembles slightly. With rage, or sadness, it's hard to say. There he finally is, the guy he hasn't seen in nearly a century, apologizing to him no less. Not for abandoning him to his fate ages ago, but this mess. He felt like hugging him, like crying tears of joy or trying to swipe at him with a fist. This is eating him up inside far too quickly.

...The most he can manage is a harshly released breath as he lifts himself into the seat next to Walt.]

I didn't deserve a lot of things. At least one of those times he was there to clean up his mess.
