Week 2

[A whole week has come and gone. To the who, unknown to all the guests, are currently watching this, they would know by now that things are about to get much worse from here. However, to the guests, this might seem like a good sign. Even with all the questionable people already debating murder (I'm looking at you Hiro), no one has done it yet. Maybe everyone can find a way out of here without resorting to violence and murder?

... Look, we can dream, can't we?

30 guests remain.]

[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]

[OOC: Week 2 is live! Starting each week from now on, there will be an investigation each Friday with a trial each Saturday! And due to the nature of this week's motive, we already have details regarding the event for those who need it.

Your first Activity Check is also live which will be due 1/17/18 @ 1 PM EST. Besides that, feel free to submit any applicable threads to the slot machine for regains!]

[Mabel takes a look at the game he's playing, and after a minute, sticks her tongue out.]

That kinda stuff is boring. You know what's really fun with cards? You can make a card house out of them!!

A house?

[Really? Well that's got to be tested. Rémy puts two cards in a pyramid and gets underneath them, the cards are trembling]

You'd need a lot of cards to make a good house.

[One would think that, with how Mabel can't sit still for more than a few minutes at the time, something like building a card castle would end in failure. But as she adds another pyramid or to next to the one Remy sets up, her hands are surprisingly steady!]

I bet we can find more!! There's gotta be more than one deck here, right?

There were other decks over there! [And he's right, a couple other decks were piled in a drawer. Useful! Better continue stacking those]

You know, I had never played with one of these before. Toys and that stuff are never in good condition when we find them -- and it's not like we'd have much use for them, anyway.

[It's...almost depressing to think rats don't have that much in terms of, you know, working for the survival of the whole clan]

[Woohoo!! Mabel helps him pull the other decks out of their boxes, plopping them in a messy pile off to the side. For now, she keeps working on the bottom row of cards, hoping to make the foundation for a super big tower!]

... That's kinda dumb. What d'you guys do for fun if you don't have toys or games???

Mess around? I mean, food doesn't always come easily, so most rats worked on finding more, and then there was me and my brother, just going around and seeing what we could do.

[Usually it involved Rémy looking for tasty stuff to kind of cook, and Émile tagging along and fretting about it. Lightning was involved once]

It was fun to go around with Émile, I kind of miss those times.

[Hm... that sounds kinda familiar...]

Kinda sounds like me 'n' Dipper. We spent all summer fighting monsters and stuff in Gravity Falls! He handled looking for all the weird stuff, and I made aure he didn't get his butt kicked too hard.

[That sounds almost familiar to him too. Rémy lifts a card, feeling rather cheerful]

I don't think Émile and I ever fought any monsters! Well, unless you count predators as monsters. I was always the one who dragged Émile around, he was there to make sure I wasn't getting us in trouble.

It didn't always work.

[That gets a giggle oit of Mabel.]

Good!! Things can get pretty boring if you're always thinking about not getting into trouble. Some of thr funnest things are stuff that grown-ups tell you not to do!

It's important to have a spirit of adventure! You don't win unless you take a risk!

[Although there have been no adventures since Rémy started working. Maybe he's a grown adult now]

Heck yeah!

[Mabel reaches down, sticking out a finger near Remy's paw like she's trying to give a teeny tiny hi-five. ]

Remy, you've gotta be the smartest rat I've ever met. You really get stuff like that!

I think this place has the smartest animals you'll ever meet. You already talked with Louis get? He's a great gator, you'd like him.

[He sounds genuinely fond of Louis, looks like he already got over the fact that, well, Louis is a predator]

[personal profile] scrapplinghook 2018-01-18 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, he's more like a teddy bear than a gator. He's a lot nicer than some people I've met!

[guess that's a yes!]

You can cook, and he can play music... what's next? A dog that can drive cars? 'Cause that would be super cool!

Is a mouse detective cool enough for you?

[Basil may not be a dog that can drive cars, but hey, a detective would be more useful here than a driver]
