Week 3

[Well, someone took the bait last week, and now two people (if either of them could really be called a person) are dead. Not only that, it seems like your first host is now out of commission and replaced by someone who claims to be The Phantom. While he may not be incredibly worse than Facilier yet, it would be a stretch to say he's an improvement.

But, things aren't all bad! When the guests wake up on Sunday, they will find the stairs in the foyer are now open, leading to a whole new floor to explore!

And there's booze so no one will have to drink vinegar anymore.

[Hiro comes in carrying something that looks like a - okay it's an egg beater spliced onto the motor of the blender. I'm very sorry if anyone wanted that blender. He also has some junk (minus the letter) and a hastily sketched map of the second floor to go with his more detailed map of the first floor.]

Okay, so I built this last night. [He, uh. He definitely looks like he might not have slept.] If it doesn't explode on me, it should dig.

Noted. Could it dig through the floor of the house? That's assuming there's only packed dirt underneath these floorboards.

If we're only dealing with dirt, it should be okay. If there's concrete, I miiiiiiight need Rocket's help.

[He hopes it doesn't come to that, but.]

Then I count it as a plus that we have the both of you here. A contingency plan is not a bad thing to have, after all.

Oh! I also have - [He sorts through his papers and sets out his map of the second floor.] This. I'll make a more detailed one later, but I figured it might be useful to have at least a basic map for this meeting.

Your cartography skills are much appreciated. Do me a favor, Hiro, and keep those on you in case we have more...trials.

[He's going to reach for it, but not grab it until Hiro says he can or not.]

[Hiro kind of pushes it closer, because he's busy trying to reassemble his map of the first floor.]

As close as I could get it. It's based on my shoes, so it's not as exact as if I had real measuring tools.

Shoes count as a measuring tool. Here, anyway. Since we're kinda lacking in everything useful.

[Except food and separate bedrooms.]

I also didn't map anyone's rooms. [Which is true. He's drawn what he assumes the shape of each individual room is, but his room is the only one with any detail beyond where the door is located.] That would have been a little weird?

I think they're all the same. I've only been in mine and Ariel's, but they're identical.

I kinda figured, but that's good to know. Makes me wonder if this was some kind of hotel or something - it's kind of weird to have thirty identical rooms, isn't it?

A hotel would make sense. Isn't this supposed to be someone's mansion? I've never heard of a mansion with that many bedrooms, identical or not.

Probably not the entire way. [He is very realistic about the capabilities of his junky device.] But it'll go way better than if we try to dig an entire escape tunnel ourselves.

Have you ever tried building something out of a broken blender and an egg beater without a proper soldering iron? [He's not Iron Man, okay!! He's barely even Marvel anymore!!] This is, like, the definition of an unsafe project but it's better than nothing.

Well, I mean I guess it's better than nothing. And so far you're the only one I've seen trying to make something to help us out of here. So.... I'll give you a C+.
