[You wake up and almost instantly notice that the thumping has stopped. Maybe a wave of relief washes over you or maybe you’re confused, but one thing seems immediately clear, it doesn’t seem like the monster is here anymore.

The problem is that something also feels deeply wrong when you wake up. Sure, nothing is wrong with the bedroom you’re currently residing in, but as soon as you leave the comfort of your bedroom it should be abundantly clear that something happened last night.

Like, in nicer princely language, but fuck this all the same. Last week was bad enough, and that was an old woman and a toy cowboy. This is a kid, and the thought of anyone here being horrible enough to actually murder a child has Kit's stomach doing a dang conga. So he just... walks in and walks right back out because no, nope, the last time he tried to help they wound up with a severed head and he can't be touching the body of a dead child, he can't do it, not today.

It's going to be bad enough having to ferret out who did it and having to know he shared a house with them for three weeks.]
