Week 4
[Two more people died this week. Two children. And they died because of a freak accident. Despite all your protests, Randall refused to let Jane get away despite being innocent.
But there is a tiny ray of hope now, which comes in the form of the mirror. Now that the mirror is public information, you can see people you care about, even if they are dead and trapped in hell. Not only that, but you now now that someone is trying to save you all from the predicament that you're in. And this time there's a good chance that he won't turn out to be a heartless mass murderer!
Still, the ideas for the plan are vague and you have no idea when you will actually get out. It's hard to keep up hope when your only chance of living might still end with you horribly killed, isn't it?
At least you have a new floor and the ability to wash your clothes now.
26 guests remain.]
[SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY]
[Don't forget to fill in this week's activity check!
...There might also be someone new threadjacking some toplevels this week too. If you want to opt out of this, just let us know!\

It does. At least...for the few years it does, in the town I grew up. I just...got used to it. It kind of came with the job.
no subject
[Marco perks up at that a little, tiny bit. Is it finally time for Dr. Marco, Phd. to make his grand entrance...?!]
no subject
I was Pink, actually. The White Ranger, he... He was a friend of mine. [ It hurts to say that, friend, like that's all it was. ] He also came later. Me, I was part of the group first chosen to defend Angel Grove, and the world. [ She says it lightly, like it's not a big part of her identity. The teasing tone in her voice, it's drifted away. ]
no subject
[Marco reaches into his hoodie pockets, pulling out his notepad and a pen and flips to some pages, writing something down.]
So... you were pink but this other guy was white? Why did you tell me you where the White Ranger, then? Is he, like, the coolest Ranger or something and everyone wants to be him?
no subject
I must've not been clear enough- Saba was his sword, not mine. [ The sword of the White Ranger. ] I'm just keeping him safe, for him.
no subject
[Look, when the subject came up you glossed right over it before he could even ask, okay..]
Yeah that makes a lot more sense, actually.
[Just gonna... flip back a page or two and scribble something out.]
So then he was kept a big secret or something? [she did mention secret identities and all that]
no subject
U-um. I mean, yeah. When we were chosen, we were told to never reveal our identities. It was one of the rules. ...Not a lot of luck there now. Or...did you mean, kept secret from me and my friends...?
no subject
[Marco you're doing a terrible job at this psychology thing right now.]
You just kind of had a weird tone to your voice when you were talking about him, is all so I was wondering if he was special or something.
no subject
Yeah. He was- he is, 'cause...um, until...kind of recently...we were dating. Until I...pushed him away, on purpose.
1/2
no subject
[Listen, he understands bad breakups and relationship issues he knows what she's going through right now.]
We can.. we don't have to talk about him anymore if you don't want to.
no subject
I really don't, but- I think I need to? ...Not like I can figure any of this out without him knowing about it. He's- probably watching right now, you know? If he's not...out there looking for a way to find me.
[ She's sitting with her knees up, and her arms crossed over them, fingers digging into her jeans. Her head flops on to them, with a groan. ]
Ugh, I'm the worst.
no subject
[Marco reaches out, gently placing a hand on one of her arms.]
If you think you're the worst, try being so obsessed with your best friend and her world that your girlfriend had to break up with you before she got even more hurt by it.
[A pause.]
...hi, Jackie.
[thanks for reminding him theyre on tv kim]
no subject
She glances up at him, appreciating him trying, but, with a forced smile: ]
I broke up with him with a letter. That I sent to our usual hangout spot. I said-- [ She winces, recalling the words. ] I told him he was like a brother and I'd found someone new.
[ From the tone of her voice, those...are very much not true things. ]
no subject
[Marco joins her with that wince, just hearing that.]
Why'd you do it? I mean.. it's not true, right?
no subject
It is so far from true. It's just...
...'Cause he... 'Cause Tommy's been dedicated to being a Power Ranger from day one. And I...couldn't be one anymore. I quit, and...it messed with me. It really messed with me, that- it was just over, and...I did that. I stopped helping people, for my own reasons. [ There's quite a lot of bitterness in her voice. A lot of...self-loathing, frankly. ] And there was no one to talk to, who'd understand.
no subject
[Marco's brow furrows, and he takes his hand back away from Kim so he can moves to sit on his knees, because his legs were getting tired.]
But he was your boyfriend. That's, like, our job when we date someone, y'know? Listening to the problems of whoever we're dating and helping them through it.
[Not that he was any good at it, honestly. But Jackie seemed like she knew what she was doing in their relationship while he was a bumbling idiot so it's fine, probably.]
no subject
[ A lump forms in her throat. Oh no, she doesn't...want to do that-- ]
If he got hurt... [ Her voice shakes. ] If any of them got hurt, because of what I did? B-because I...missed the Power and wanted away from it all at once, I- I wouldn't b-be able to--
[ Her head goes back into her arms, like she's trying to hide it. An old scene plays in her mind on repeat, of Tommy unconscious in the Command Center, from back in his Green Ranger days. She's been seeing that a lot, lately. ]
no subject
[Marco moves forward a little bit, so he can gently wrap her arms around her -- albeit a little awkwardly with the way she's sitting.]
It's okay, Kim. I understand what you're feeling. It's hard and sometimes even scary being friends with or in love with someone who fights crimes or has enemies. You never know if your feelings or actions are gonna put them or your family in danger, and sometimes you want to just.. run away from it all and pretend like you never met them.
[He rubs her back gently, as he continues.]
And sometimes you have to do that, for their sake or for your own and there isn't anything wrong with that, okay?
I'm sure Tommy understands why you did what you did, and he's rooting for you right now to get through this like you got through everything else when you were fighting monsters before.
no subject
But now he's off w-worried about me, just like I-I was afraid of. I can't st-stop thinking, he'll j-just keep...pushing himself, a-and pushing himself. [ They're alike in that way. She's speaking, unfortunately, from experience. ] We haven't talked since b-before I sent it, and now I just-- I thought I was doing the right thing, but I wish if this was going to happen, at least- a-at least he could've known, that I still--
[ She breaks off and leans her shoulders into the hug. It is awkward, the way they're sitting, but she doesn't really care. After the last few days...well, her nerves are frayed in every direction. And really, she just needs to fall apart. ]
no subject
Like Hiro did for him the night before, he'll hold her for as long as she needs it and... honestly, everyone probably needs it right now after the horrid time they've been having here.]
Oh, Kim....
no subject
Similarly, she can't find much more to say. Among all of her friends, she and Tommy are probably the two most familiar with near-death experiences. The most familiar with being specifically targeted for a length of time. You'd think that would've prepared her for this. No, it just scares her worse. ]
no subject
When Kim moves around to hug at him better, Marco wraps his arms around her neck then and lightly presses his cheek against hers in a comforting matter, kind of glad for the hug on his own end even though he's the one comforting her. It's.. nice.. okay.. hugs are nice after stressful weekends.]
I can't promise you that everything is going to turn out okay... we're really gonna have to do our best for everyone back home.
[And he doesn't know how the state of their homes even are, if there's even a home to go home to anymore.]
But if there's one thing I've learned from this place, it's that we're alive. And that's the most important thing to keep in mind when things start getting rough around here.
[its too bad star died]
So remember that, okay? Despite everything you've been through, Kimberly Ann Hart is still alive and kickin'.
no subject
To think she was teasing him just maybe ten minutes ago, and now he's here encouraging her.
Bottom lip quivering, she pulls one of her arms out of the hug to wipe at her face a little, and then, after a few breath, she leans over and gives Marco a kiss on the cheek. ]
You're a real great friend, you know that, Marco?
no subject
Marco's cheeks definitely get flushed with that kiss, not expecting it in the least at all. Of course this is a very serious and heartfelt moment, but he can't help but feel flustered at it since the only other person he's kissed was his ex and that was, like, twice.]
W-well... you're a great friend too, y'know?
[He laughs a little bit awkwardly, and reaches up with one of his hands to lightly touch his cheek where she kissed him.]
We just have to stick together, and we'll make it outta here in no time.
