Week 5

[...So that was a mess. All of it was a mess, and things don't look to be improving any time soon. With tensions at an all-time high and conditions worsened, it seems pretty safe to say that this whole week promises a great deal of foreboding atmosphere.

But, hey, things aren't entirely bad. Just as Randall promised, you're now able to leave the Manor! 

Just don't stay out there for too long. There's still a lot of you, and you just can't afford to lose numbers.

[He shakes his head at the first part, then nods at the mention of void.]

Hhrrmph.

[Nothing but pure, inky black for miles as far as he could see,]

Well, that's...probably gonna make it harder for anyone to find us...

[Really hard to find something when it's stuck in the void.]

And is there no way you could, like, fly us out of here or anything?

[He's able to vocalise something that sounds like 'We could try!' and gestures out in the unknown.

Technically he could carry Soos with him, it's going to be cold (and dangerous) the further they go. Should they?]

...yeah, I don't see why we couldn't try.

[Careful! Soos is about as heavy as he looks. Not sure if Lekmet can actually carry him, let alone pick him up for a couple seconds.]

[Fortunately gravity sure was weird out here, and Lekmet's able to hold Soos up by the upper arms and take off at once.

It's a straight path from the mansion, the further they go, the more ominous the sounds around them feel.]

Aaaa?

['What the heck?']

U-um...maybe try going higher? Like, the farther we get away from the place, the less we'll hear?

[Surely that'll work, right?]

[That, he does! Flying higher doesn't seem to make a difference, but at least the joyride's a bit fun, right?

...Maybe those voices aren't very welcoming.]

O-oh dear!

O-okay, um...

[Going higher didn't work, so what else can they do?]

M-maybe we should just go back! I-I don't think this is going to work!

[He REALLY doesn't wanna hear what these voices are saying!]

Uhhh- Yeaa!

[He's going to speed up the flight a bit, not wanting to stay in the void longer.

The ride was pretty smooth on the way back, save for a-- What the hell is that in front of them?!

It's probably fine, he's going to yelp and make sure he doesn't drop Soos.]

DYAAAHHH!

[Don't worry, it's fine. He's just...holding on to Lekmet's arms for dear life now.]

PLEASE GO FASTER!

AAAAAAAAAA

[There's a violent swerve or two to avoid those ghosts- And after what seemed like a tense hour (it's only been minutes), Lekmet flies through the foyer with enough force to slam the door behind them.

OH BOY...]

[sorrydoods]

[At that point, Soos isn't gonna keep trying to hold on. He's just gonna tuck and roll, getting a...landing that's better than a faceplant.

And right after that, he's running to one of the closest couches in the room and pushing it toward the door as fast as he can.]

BARRICADE THE DOOR! BARRICADE THE DOOR!

[It's a good thing Soos let go, since that was going to be a messy crashlanding with two or more people injured-

At his yell, he wastes no time scrambling up and using a table to block the main door.]

YAAAAGH!!!

[He's going to add another couch to the barrier for good measure, then starts wielding a walking stick like a bat.]

[sorrydoods]

[And while Lekmet does that, Soos is grabbing a coffee table, breaking one of it's legs off, and holding it like a baseball bat as well.

But after a while of nothing happening, he'll put it down and let out a breath.]

I...I think it's not gonna follow us.

[Thank god]

[He lowers it slightly, but still tensed and ready to swing just in case.]

Yaaah....

[Don't mind him, he's glaring at the door and thinking 'Oh those things better not.']

[sorrydoods]

[Meanwhile, Soos is walking over and collapsing onto one of the couches that's been pushed against the door.]

What...what even was that?!

[Seriously, the hell?!?]

I'm not sure--

[W. What. Did his voice just change into something more human or did he mishear himself?]

Hhuh. Baaad.

[There we go, back to normal. Geez, whatever's causing these...spells? were too powerful.]

[sorrydoods]

[...wat]

Did... did you just talk? Or...am I hearing things?

[Again...wat]

[He's mirroring Soos' bewilderment. What the hell indeed]

Wahh.

[Time to rub his temples, still weirded out.]

...if it's not something we should worry about, should we just ignore it? Or...is it gonna be a problem?

[I mean...if it's already over, it's not a problem, right?]

[He gives an unhelpful shrug, then thinks about it.

At least that part of the hallucination was pretty harmless, and he could use some human voice.]

Ehhh.

[sorrydoods]

I'll just take that as a yes.

[Soos gets up from the couch and walks over to Lekmet, his gaze still lingering on the new barricade.]

Should we just...leave that there for now? I feel like that might be for the best.

[angelgoatdemon]

[A quick, but firm nod.]

Ye-aah.

[...He's going to add another heavy furniture to the barricate for good measure. That ought to do it, those phantoms can go suck it.]

Yeah, agreed.

[And Soos is pushing the now three-legged table against the door as well. It's not gonna be a good table anymore, so why not?]
