Week 5

[...So that was a mess. All of it was a mess, and things don't look to be improving any time soon. With tensions at an all-time high and conditions worsened, it seems pretty safe to say that this whole week promises a great deal of foreboding atmosphere.

But, hey, things aren't entirely bad. Just as Randall promised, you're now able to leave the Manor! 

Just don't stay out there for too long. There's still a lot of you, and you just can't afford to lose numbers.

Who's Joshua? When you say his fault, do you mean- oh gosh, did you...die?

[ It's listening time! Kim gets comfortable, idly admiring some of Neku's many, many pins. ]

Joshua's...well, he's a friend now, but when we first met, he...uh...shot me.

[He taps his chest briefly.]

And I'm still pissed at him for it, but not as much? I mean, he helped us escape Shibuya when it was consumed by darkness, so I owe him that.

Oh... Whoa.

[ She can't quite judge on "friends who shot me" since two of her very important people both had a very damaging evil stint, but it still sounds...yikes. ]

It sure sounds like you've been through a lot, Neku. Like...a lot, a lot. [ No wonder he takes time to warm up to people. ]

[And that's not the entirety of it.]

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't. Being here is about the worst of it. I just want to go home already.

[He picks up one of the pins he's spread out and flips it over in his hand while he talks.]

[ She bites her lip. What about that thing about the darkness? What... ]

...What's that one do? They...each do different things, right? That's why there's so many of them?

[He's hoping it'll be fixed by the time he gets out of here. Or maybe it's already fixed.]

They're part of a game. Weapons in the UG, regular pins in the RG.

[He picks up one with a house and a chain on it, and pins it on his shirt.]

This one creates a line of barbed wire between you and an enemy.

[He draws a line in the air, jumping back in surprise when instead of nothing, barbed wire does indeed stretch across the space between him and Kim, though it disappears just as quickly.]

...It's supposed to last longer than that, though.

O-oh! [ Also jumping back! ] Maaaybe it's something to do with the, uh...magic atmosphere of this place? It's like, not really the Underground, but not really the Realground?

[psychopinesis]

Me and Hiro...we figured the place was created just for us, so probably.

[Let's try another pin. The telekinesis one, the one with the hand on it.

Trying to move the slot machine does nothing, but he manages to lift up a table and some stacks of chips without touching them.]

They seem slightly busted.

You're doing that? Just...just like that? With your mind?

[ telekinesis is so cool??? ]

Yeah...pretty cool, isn't it?

[He removes the telekinetic pin and turns it over in his hands, looking for indications of why it might be weaker.]

I can do more than that. Some of them let me create fire, or ice, or...mini black holes, like this one.

[The one in question has a sheep on it. He's not sure why.]

[ A gasp! ]

Oh my... Can you try them? Can I see?

[psychopinesis]

Um, okay.

[Fire, fire...there's one that creates fire orbs, that seems like a good one.

He puts that one one and taps it a couple times. It should summon softball-sized fireballs, but instead what appears is many soft-ball sized..red-tinted bubbles that give off a lot of steam. Welp.

Probably shouldn't touch them anyway.]

[ Look, this is cool enough. Kimberly watches wide-eyed. ]

Whoa. Morphenomenal. I can't believe you can just do that.
