[...So that was a mess. All of it was a mess, and things don't look to be improving any time soon. With tensions at an all-time high and conditions worsened, it seems pretty safe to say that this whole week promises a great deal of foreboding atmosphere.

But, hey, things aren't entirely bad. Just as Randall promised, you're now able to leave the Manor! 

Just don't stay out there for too long. There's still a lot of you, and you just can't afford to lose numbers.

[Oh my goodness. This is so... cute! Ariel holds it in her hands like it's something precious, smiling brightly at Freddie. Whether Freddie made it or not, she loves it.

She sets it down for a moment to hug Freddie, the best thing she can do to thank her.]

Hey, don't thank me yet! I've still got another gift! [she slips out of the embrace after a few moments of dying and goes over to the table and picks up a small cloth pouch that's been sewn shut and put on a strong long enough to be a necklace.] It's called a gris-gris; it's like a good luck charm. If I did it right, it ought to protect you from some of the black magic going around lately.

[Ariel blinks, taking it in her hands. She's never seen anything like this before. And to protect her? Aw Freddie you're getting another hug!

After a moment, she pulls away to put on the necklace. She feels safer already!]

[Dating? Huh. Yeah...it is. Ariel smiles softly and nods. It's scary but exciting. And she's really happy.]

[so she looks calm and ready on the outside but she actually hasn't breathed for about the last five minutes.]

So, uh, let's get to baking!

[Oh right....they came here to bake! Ariel nods a little to quickly and tucks the charm under her dress so it doesn't get dirty. She's already set out some supplies, but Freddie might need to correct some it it.]

Okay, so the kind of flour you use to cook things is different than the kind you pick out of the ground? I mean, they probably don't have either of those in the ocean, so let me just--

[so she'll go get some actual flour! and also she's not 100% aware she's supposed to be measuring out things so shit is just gonna go in the bowl completely eyeballed.]

Ariel watches her carefully as she works.]

And then... It goes in the oven. [hm yes putting the whole bowl in is how this goes. if she says it confidently then it's right.]
