[...So that was a mess. All of it was a mess, and things don't look to be improving any time soon. With tensions at an all-time high and conditions worsened, it seems pretty safe to say that this whole week promises a great deal of foreboding atmosphere.

But, hey, things aren't entirely bad. Just as Randall promised, you're now able to leave the Manor! 

Just don't stay out there for too long. There's still a lot of you, and you just can't afford to lose numbers.

Don't. [ She says this very seriously as she takes the plate. ] Just...don't.

[And now you've got her looking all kinds of concerned.]

Don't tell me you've already had a run-in.

[She nods, turns, and grabs the still-hot kettle and another mug for Kim, setting them atop the counter.]

[ A kind of stretched smile. ]

It's... It's fine, it didn't last too long. I'll know how to avoid them better, next time.

[Oh, save her. Leia shakes her head slowly.]

Makes me glad I decided to hole up where they couldn't get at me.

[She glances up darkly at the elephant that's drifting silently into the kitchen.]

[ Kim shoots a glare to the elephant and takes a menacing bite of her sandwich. ]

There's somewhere they can't go? Where?

As far as I can tell, the bedrooms.

[Just gonna. Gulp down some tea. It's fine.]

[ Okay it's that gulp that's more suspicious than anything. ]

Really? Well... Good to know they won't sneak up on us when we're asleep.

...Did you have a bad night or something?

My one consolation.

[What she's just innocently drinking tea, leave an old lady alone!!]

No, I just...was taking a nap. After I heard that motive, I just thought, might as well get some rest while I can.

[ Then why you looking like that Leia. ]

Oh? Oh, well, good. [ Sips tea. She's just concerned!! ] As long as it's not...you know, side-effects from that freaky apple.

[hasit]

Heh. [Leia takes a bite out of her own sandwich. Gee, she sure is hungry!]

Don't you worry yourself over that. Stanley took care of it just fine.

[ Oh, this is a nice distraction. ]

He's still be looking after you? I'm glad. He's a nice man.

[Gently. Chokes on her sandwich.]

Well, yes, you know. He's been very sweet to me.

Sure... [ She's a smart girl okay, her brain's starting to work overtime. ] Say. Weird question. How did you wake up from that magic apple again?

Hmm? Oh, ah...I don't remember, exactly, but Stanley told me he had to. Kiss me.

[Funny, that.]

Kiss you? [ And this is a girl who loves her fairy tales- ] Oh, gosh, like- like true love's kiss?!

Well... [Leia's...blushing. Yeah. She's blushing.] Purportedly.

[ A small squeal. Elephants be damned, this is a joyous occasion! ]

I'm so happy for you!!

[ Here comes a hug. ]

Kim—!

[Leia cuts off with a startled laugh, and she looks embarrassed, but...pleased.]

Thanks, kiddo. It's...it's certainly something.

[pinkflip]

It's something good from this whole...mess! If anyone deserves something like that, it's you.

[ ...At least she isn't pressing about the nap. ]

[hasit]

That's...Kim, you're too sweet.

[Look she's relieved that she's not asking questions, okay?]

It's a distraction, but...I have to say, I think it's about time I deserved a distraction from this mess.

[pinkflip]

Exactly! ...Being able to meet new people, that's...kind of the silver lining to all this, huh?

[ A sweet smile...as the gears in her head turn. ]

[hasit]

It really is. Not just Stan, but you, and...and Jane, and Ariel, and the boys...

[She might have lost a son already, but she feels like she's gained a whole gaggle of kids here.]

[ Jane... Just hearing her name freezes Kim's smile, but she fights to keep her good mood. ]

...When we come out the other side of this...I hope we'll be able to hold on to the good memories, above the bad.
