[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

[ Momentarily, her eyes flick up toward the ceiling, but she doesn't comment on it. It's obvious that Elsa's doing it, but she's too polite to mention it. ]

Yes, that's correct. [ She frowns. ] I'm really sorry for startling you.

[That catches Lea's attention, and he transfers the smoking pan off the heat almost sheepishly, but mostly hurriedly.]

Thanks... Wait, spikes?!

[Wander raises his pencil-thin eyebrows. Fiddles has a wife. Or had. That sounds like something that should not be brought up during breakfast.

But. Coffee. Coffee and Wander do not mix. Do you want Wander running up the stairs all day to shed off that energy?]

I prefer tea myself, if it ain't too much trouble.

Yeah, there are more than two dozen books! And they're... weird.

Might not need to worry if I can't get up there. Just need a few more inches.

[The inside is completely charred, the occasional word and fragments can be seen here and there but nothing to decipher what this book was.

Even the title of the book is impossible to make out, save for a few letters: HE 'S E]

Sort of! But this is more of a challenge. And--[one two three, another jump, kicking himself off the wall. He manages to smack the body. It swings a bit!]

--I've gotta get a bit more creative with this!

[She didn't. But boy if she wasn't tired of not knowing what was behind this dang door.

And she also didn't cross her fingers. So she gives the door another good whack, and stops for a moment to wipe her brow.]

So, c'mon man. Why's it locked?

[Peeking closer, isn't that a pen from the study?] It's all crushed like [squishes his hands together]...how'd that happen?

You mean... very accurate and in-depth?

[A pause as she thinks it over] How long does rope last anyways? I just realized it should probably have broken on its own already... [She backs up a bit more in case someone decides to make that a self-fulfilling prophecy.]
