[One week. One week spent in the Haunted Mansion, and nothing seems to have changed. The hinges still creak in doorless chambers, strange and frightening sounds still echo through and you still occasionally catch a flicker of candlelight out of the corner of your eye. You might be slowly becoming familiar with the mundanity of this communal life, and we've recognized that possibility.

Really? I'm not really good at any actual cooking. Most of what I can do is just heating stuff up. [More cinnamon roll munchies] Where'd you find this anyways?

Yes. Mrs. Oiwa--the lady I'm staying with over the summer--she said she was surprised that I was able to help her so much. [Yoriko is a good foster mom.] I got it out of the machine. It was warmer than this but I got it to the kitchen as fast I could.

Not really? Aside from sausage and sauerkraut, I just listed almost everything I know how to make. [She's a classical pianist, not a chef.] You can put almost anything into an omelet, though. My papa used to put in leftover sausage in his and my mother likes asparagus and cheese in hers.

[While she's saying that, back to chopping! There's a lot of cabbage.]

That's a nice compliment. [She blinks.] Out of the machine? I...I didn't know it could give food. I mean, fresh food.

Whew, cooking was a lot more work than I remembered.

She and her husband are really nice. [Loud and annoying at times but nice.] I didn't either. It was the first time I used it. Or second, I guess. I got a playing card the first time.

Here... after all that hard work, I think you should have something cool to drink.

Are you worried about the secrets thing?

You might have to build one. But I doubt if you'll be able to find the materials around here.

...I hope so.

[There's a lot of mixed emotions about that particular point, but Mulan hopes she can honor her father. Even if it's not the way a daughter would bring honor to her family.

Hey, can I ask you something? About the military where you're from, I mean.

I already admitted my secret to people.

No, it's alright! I'm not as good as my mother is, but I can cook quite a few things. It won't even take that long.

I don't think anyone here would kill over a secret.

...Mine is a dangerous one, but just from talking with people here, I think they would understand why I kept it a secret if they found out.

[By now the conversation's gotten too heavy to stand for, so Lefou takes a seat on a couch.]
