[Well this is all starting to feel incredibly routine. After being trapped here for a month and a half with no sign of rescue, maybe you have just resigned to the idea that you'll never leave this place and that people will keep dying until none of you're are left.

Truthfully, I can't even pretend to make an optimistic about any of this. it's a dark and horrid world you all live in.

There are no new floors today. It seems you finally have access to the whole mansion.

Been there, done that. I've always preferred my feet flat on the ground, thank you very much.

[shrugs] I don't know. I guess I just like being me more than I'd like being anybody else; there's nothing else I'd rather be. And after it's all done... I'd really just like to be allowed to stay dead? That's not too much to ask, right?

Interesting. You wouldn't even want a second chance at anythin'? Nothin' in life you don't regret? I mean, personally, I'm pretty okay with my life at home, but...a gator can only do so much, y'know?

Wait, you've actually flown before? Through magic, I assume?

None that I could change. [her regrets are all external.]

Flying carpet. [sounds. enthused.] I don't know if it's just 'cause Jordan doesn't have her license, but it was not fun. Genies.

[That wasn't so much a question as it was a deadpan statement.]

Man, your world sure uses magic a whole lot, huh? Dunno how I'd be able to live with that. I mean, think of the scary stuff everyone could do to get whatever they wanted.

Just like you need one to drive a car! It's pretty much the same thing, but one's up in the air.

They want us to use less magic-- it's heavily frowned on in Auradon, and blocked outright on the Isle. But, there's lots of people who are against that and still practice their magic. A lot of the fairies that aren't Fairy Godmother, the voodoo priests in the Bayou, the wizards in Camelot... Basically everybody but the king. And he's biased.

Just like a car, huh? Forget what I said earlier. I think I'm fine just walkin' and swimmin'.

[This gator can barely handle 30 miles per hour, thanks]

Jeez. Hypocritical, much? S'like sayin', "Ohhh, there's SOME bad stuff, so let's get rid of 'em all!" But when people come for their stuff, they're like, "Ah, but I didn't mean mine! Just the stuff I don't like!"

[He lifts his head a bit further out of the water.] I've heard people say, "We need to deal with the gators on the bayou, they're causin' trouble for the boats," or whatnot. And then when my friend helps me point out that not all of 'em are tryin' to hurt people, they're so quick to justify themselves. S'like they don't even hear themselves talkin'.

Honestly, of all the messed up stuff he's done? At least banning magic makes sense, considering his life story. Of course, King Beast only started pushing that after he set up the Isle... Magic was just fine when it was causing villains grief.

Beast. King Beast? Like, Beast-who-just-died Beast? That Beast?

[what the actual fuck is UP with the world freddie lives in like seriously????]

I--I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but, uh, your world seems like if someone just took everyone magically significant in the universe and just sorta mashed 'em together.

... Shit. [ahaha she'd been... doing such a great job... keeping that to herself...]

It's definitely... something. This whole place is like if somebody took a history textbook and mixed it all up.

So, like, is it the same Beast, or a different...version or what not? Am I important enough to be in another place?

[He still can't quite wrap his head around the concept of alternate universes and inter-dimensional stuff, even though people have talked about it with him quite a lot. He just...sort of pretends to know what people are talking about.]

It's him, but on a different path. One where he's human, married Belle, and gave her an island prison as a wedding gift.

[thinks...] I'm sure you're around someplace-- Dad usually mentioned some animals involved in the whole mess? I only remember the bug, though. Hated that thing.
