[Well this is all starting to feel incredibly routine. After being trapped here for a month and a half with no sign of rescue, maybe you have just resigned to the idea that you'll never leave this place and that people will keep dying until none of you're are left.

Truthfully, I can't even pretend to make an optimistic about any of this. it's a dark and horrid world you all live in.

There are no new floors today. It seems you finally have access to the whole mansion.

Well, kinda-- he's a version of my dad. There could be millions of those. [just. hangin around.] I'm talking about the dad I grew up with, that raised me-- that man is still back home on the Isle. And with the wand? Nothing will stop me from getting him out.

[Marco's just gonna. Take a long sip of his coffee to process all of that.]

Is the Isle like, some kind of prison or something?

[she's mentioned it before already but he didnt stop to actually ask what it was]

Where they put the baddest of the bad. [sighs fondly] Home sweet home.

[He gives her a nod at that, like ah yes I see now. No wonder she said he wouldn't last over there.. even he agrees he wouldn't last in a prison. Though he's totally imagining this isle like.. a giant state prison on it's own island rather than a shitty dystopian-esque village on it's own island.]

Usually I don't encourage like, rule breaking or bad guys doing bad stuff but honestly I hope your plan works and you can break your dad outta jail.

Most of you guys seem to. It's making me kinda worry I'm accidentally doing something righteous. [BC THAT WOULD BE WEIRD]

It's just... Not everybody deserves to be on the Isle, y'know? None of us kids do, I think, but a lot of our folks don't, either. Not all of them tried to conquer the world. A lot of 'em just made the wrong person angry.

Yeah.. I don't know the full story, obviously, but I feel like banishing a bunch of people to an Isle-- even their kids is maybe going a little far? Unless your dad, like, murdered a bunch of people or something. And you also murdered a bunch of people.

He was just gonna kill one rich dude and damn the souls of New Orleans. It's not even a big deal.

[these are actually relatively minor crimes]

It's not as big a deal as "skinning a hundred and one puppies to make a coat," though, is it?

[Marco actually lets out a gasp at that.]

Who would skin puppies for a jacket?! I thought people did that too, like, alli..ga....

A villain would. Specifically, Carlos' mom. If it makes you feel better, the coat never happened; she got beat by the pups and sent off to the Isle just like everybody else.

That does make me feel better, actually. A lot better.

[All he was imagining was his own lil litter of puppies back home being a coat and No Thank You.]

Still... cursing the souls of everyone in New Orleans or whatever sounds like a little bit of a red flag? I mean, they still shouldn't have put you on the Isle too, though.

Only to save his own! If those darn frogs hadn't messed everything up, his debt would've been paid off! [and then he would've added more--

she's had a very one-sided interpretation of events given to her]

As awful as they are, I don't think the Auradonians... meant to do that? I mean, I wasn't even sure they knew any of us existed 'til the fancy car showed up and carted some kids off to Princessland. But, 20 years is a pretty long time. Anything could happen.

[You know, Marco would be weirded out by frogs apparently ruining her dad's life but an army of rats took over Star's castle once so. Can't really talk.]

You know, you guys would probably benefit if you tried like.. a peace treaty between Auradonians and Villains. Which is... a lot easier said than done.

[bark of laughter]

Please! Neither side would be interested in something like that. The villains want revenge more than anything else, and nearly everyone in Auradon would cut off their own arms for a chance to send us few VKs back to the Isle, let alone our folks.

... Ben and Mal could probably work something out, though... [suddenly very thoughtful]

That's what Mewmans and monsters are like too but we're still trying to get them to get along.

[actually this is Eerily Similar to the situation in star's world]

Also... Ben and Mal?

Ben's the new king of Auradon. Mal is... Well, if the Isle had royalty, she'd be one. She's the daughter of Maleficent, who's just about the baddest villain there is.

[very flatly] And they're in love.

Ohhhh, so they're like Star and Tom except Tom isn't really a bad guy he's just got... bad... anger issues.

[gross]

I would definitely use that to their advantage if I were them, to be honest.

It's still one hell of an uphill battle, though. Everyone in Auradon is just sitting around waiting for her to fail and go evil, and everyone back home thinks she's the worst kind of traitor.

It's. Gonna take a long while. Maybe my great-grandkids won't be known as VKs.
