[Well this is all starting to feel incredibly routine. After being trapped here for a month and a half with no sign of rescue, maybe you have just resigned to the idea that you'll never leave this place and that people will keep dying until none of you're are left.

Truthfully, I can't even pretend to make an optimistic about any of this. it's a dark and horrid world you all live in.

There are no new floors today. It seems you finally have access to the whole mansion.

[It's a knife from the kitchen all right, much like the ones Ariel took. Hiro's had it basically since he arrived - he took it from the kitchen at the same time he took the butter knife he eventually gave to Kim so she could destroy her bio. Just in case, you know. The butter knife wasn't good enough.]

S-so? I admit, he's a complete idiot and only really cares about himself, but do you want to go down with him?! Because that's all that would happen if you stabbed him here! We'd have a stupid trial where we'd have to immediately vote for you even though even though you're just another kid that doesn't deserve it and your boyfriend just died and...and...

Okay, what Lekmet did...it wasn't right. Negaduck was a terrible person, but...he didn't deserve to die. I just...it's hard for me to get over that he planned that trap to kill Arrow and got away with it just because Pinocchio set it up.

But I know it was wrong and stupid, just like what you were trying to do! That's why I couldn't just let you do that! I couldn't just let another nice person I know try to sacrifice themselves just to make sure we never have to deal with one jerk ever again!

I can't believe I gave up my yakuza connections for this. ["This" being "being a decent human being." Why Won't People Let Hiro Kill.] There's all these rules about right and wrong and what's ethical but sometimes! Sometimes the right answer is to just get revenge and feel bad about it later!

But it's not! Sometimes the right answer to a situation like this is just calming down and ignoring the idiot! It's hard and it sucks, but the other option is dying and...and...

Marco's not here! Kim's not here! Tadashi's not here! None of them are here, and all calming down has ever done for me is that all the people I love end up dead!

[It's entirely possible that Hiro Hamada has some really deep-seated Issues that he's never fully articulated to anybody here and they're all centered around the fact that he feels vaguely cursed because everyone who's ever been important to him has died.

Tadashi's friends don't count, on that level, because honestly Hiro still thinks of them that way: they're Tadashi's friends. Sure, he might also be friends with them, now, but they're not "his" friends on the same level as Noby or Rocket were. Like Kim was.]
