So like... could any of us do the whole uh. Thing that Dan did?

To be honest, I have no idea. I'm not particularly close to the toon side of things. Daniel was created back in the hayday, when a lot of toons made back then had incredible power. Almost godlike.

[oh_worm]

Right. I guess cartoons were a lot different before the Network Wars.

Network wars?

But yes- the ones in his time period were quite different. And yet, similarities remain.

Oh, a lot of old TV and stuff got destroyed when all the TV networks went to war in 2273. Every once in a while they still find another episode of Frasier in a vault somewhere.

I guess so. I just wish I was as in on the toon thing as you guys, if it's true.

Quite a distant future, dear. Daniel was from the 1940s. It's no wonder you're so far removed from it all.

I guess so. Man, you know, there's been a lot less asking about the future from everyone than I expected, honestly.

With all likelihood, everyone's too busy worrying about dying. And personally, I only care if it means I could get my hands on futuristic candy ingredients.

I mean I can hook you up with some if we get the chance after all this is over.

... I wouldn't mind that. I believe we've partially discussed this before, but what is the candy like when you live?

That's a really big question, dude, there's like a million kinds with all the planets out there. Human candy hasn't changed that much, though, we still sell chocolate in Regular and We Tossed Some Junk Up In There, gummis are still a thing but they come in just a ridonkulous number of flavors...

What sort of candies from other planets do you have? And can you name some of the odder flavors?

Well some of them are like old Earth candy but weirder - like there's Glendalian Time Taffy that exists in a stable time loop, so every time you eat it time gets reset to right before you ate it - or there's like Victrolan Soundos, which are like... they have these caves where noises echo through the whole planet and get imprinted in this weird sap that makes the noise happen in your teeth when you eat it. And uh... I don't know, savory gummis are pretty big in some places, you can just get bacon and eggs or whatever.

[Don't mind him he's just. Taking vigorous notes on a notepad that he pulled out of his jacket.]

I made something similar to the savory gummis you mentioned- chewing gum that tasted the same as a full meal, and filled you up just as much.
