Second Trial

[Just like last week, as soon as everyone’s done investigating and back in the stretching room, the doors close and everyone slowly descends. As it does so, the Ghost Host's voice once again echoes across the room.]

Tell me. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it just your imagination?

[This is apparently a thing he does.

When it stops, everyone is once again welcomed to the graveyard 25 tombstones arranged in a circle. Now there are three new epitaphs to the newly dearly departed Mulan, Princess Anna, and Sophie. They are dressed with their own rose and class of cognac to each of their tombstone.

Here lies Ping Mulan
Wanted to do anything for honor
It’s a shame she is now a goner

Here lies Princess Anna
She stumbled upon a bride’s wedding
And earned herself a nice beheading

Here lies Sophie Hatter
She was a wonderful little maid
But sadly went and got betrayed

When everyone goes to their places, the Ghost Host speaks again.]

[They are standing on opposite sides of the room, and Wander can't easily slide over and give him a hug. Yet. He folds his hands on his lap as he sits on the tombstone.]

...Was that your envelope in the fireplace?

It was. I burned the envelope...but saved the picture inside. I couldn't burn it.

[He produces the photo he received on Tuesday from his pocket.]

Kiara thinks back to the picture she has now tacked up in her room, and all the anguish that has brought her.]

You tried so hard to get away with it. So you could go home. For him.

[She's not mad anymore, really, just sad.]

Who is he?

[Ford's heart sinks. He understands, now. He doesn't condone what they're all pretty sure Tadashi did, but...

He gets it. He has brothers, too.]

[He sees why Tadashi would murder someone if that were the case. It doesn't excuse Sophie's death, but Wander can understand him. Sylvia would have done the same if it were Wander in the picture, and if she were the only one from his galaxy in this building...]

I'm sorry this had to happen.

[Oh. And see, here he was all set to be furious -- and he still sort of is, because a young woman is dead who shouldn't be and everything points to it being on purpose -- but the moment a young child enters into the equation it makes a lot more sense. The very unkind things he was going to say never make it out of his mouth. Star already said them anyway. Now he just feels sick.

It's just like last time. There's no good solution. He hates this.]

[Elsa should be able to understand, and on some level, she sort of does. After all, she has - had - a younger subling to look out for too. She put herself through hell to keep Anna safe, and would have done anything and everything in her vast power to keep on doing so.

But murder? Killing one of the kindest women here?? Elsa would rather make herself the target than kill someone else, because as much as she wanted to protect Anna's happiness, she knows Anna would never be able to live with herself if Elsa killed for her sake.]
