[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

So far it hasn't seem to do much, and I had hoped keeping it out of the reach of the others would be a good enough course of action.

[He's not particularly good at picking up on hints, but he can at least tell that Basil wants something.]

[ Arrow may have dropped a bit further in Basil's opinion of the man's intellect, but being able to dial back on the subtlety is a welcome relief. ]

I would like to take custody of the item myself. While keeping it out of the others' reach is a good start, someone also needs to keep an eye on the thing itself.

You cannot keep an eye on both the item and our fellow captives. It's simply logical for someone without conflicting duties to take over responsibility for the thing.

[He thinks it over, but it doesn't take long.]
