[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

I can do most anything. [it takes her a few moments to position her hands correctly, an odd sort of crooked bend at the wrist, but the shadow ends up very much like a a stereotypical witch, with hat and nose.]

[He thought the other ones were impressive, but that's some next-level shit. Hiro tries to copy her and fails miserably.]

It's all just a matter of knowing where to put your hands-- most fun stuff is. [shadow puppets, pickpocketing, lock picking...] When your only toys as a kid are shadows, you end up coming up with a pretty good cast of characters.

You didn't have any other toys? [??? That seems . . .] That sucks.

Dad would give me a doll for my birthday, the times he remembered it. But, even with the magic blocked, nobody really wants you bringing along voodoo dolls on playdates, y'know?

... Uh, yeah? Of course magic is real. What did you think half the stuff here is?

Tech? Holograms and CGI are basically indistinguishable from reality nowadays.

[And anyway magic is just things science hasn't explained? But also magic would explain a Lot about things.]

Nope, nothing like that. Completely au naturel over here.

A couple of us here got magic-- I know Mad Madam Mim has way more than it's actually responsible to give her-- but I don't have too much on me. I don't even have my shadow with me!

Are all shadows magic or something? [Now that she's mentioned it, he's walking around her curiously, trying to find her shadow. Weird.] Or is that just, like, your magic? Can you make your shadow do cool things?

Some of 'em are-- usually if you're already magic, I think. Never met anyone with a living shadow who wasn't at least a little bit touched by magic.

[pause] I can't really make my shadow do much of anything. Ever since she woke up, she's existed to spite me. I'm actually glad to have her outta my hair for a bit.
