[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

Hey! What are you doing in here? [Molly had just left to get snacks from the kitchen- and of course, left her door hanging open irresponsibly. ...She's only been here a day, and she's managed to trash the room already.]

[Honestly, he'd barely spent more than a few seconds in the room before deciding that it would be a lot of effort to search through this one. It'd probably be easier just to come back to it last--

or get spotted before he can leave, that's cool, that's fine too. Never mind the fact that he just jumped about half a foot into the air.]

Oh, uh, I was just tryin' to look for something, sorry! But I, um... don't think it's in here, so...

[All he really knows about Molly is that she was kinda able to lift Louis, and while that was really cool, it was also highly intimidating.]

I don't have anything for you to steal, if that's what you're looking for. [She marches across the room, peering curiously at him.]

What's your deal? [she didnt bother reading anyones bio but her own. too boring.]

No, I'm not tryin' to steal anything! [That's Wrong™ and he knows it.]

[He flinches back a bit when she approaches, though the question confuses him. He didn't make a deal with anyone, if that's what she's asking?]

Uh... my deal...?

Yeah. What's going on with you? You don't act like a normal kid. [or look like one tbh but she's not that rude.]

Well, I mean, I'm not real yet. I guess that makes me not normal... but I'm workin' on it.

[...sort of. Honestly he's already kinda lost sight of that goal slightly during his time here but it's fine.]

You're not real? Of course you're real, dummy. If you weren't real, I couldn't be talking to you.

No I'm not! I- I mean, I'm not human, I guess? And that makes me not real. I think...

[The more he gets questioned on it, the less sure he is about what the Blue Fairy even meant.]

What? Who told you that?

You're real, human or not!

[madeofpine]

A fairy came down from a star and told me.

[...Okay, yeah, when he puts it that way he can see how she might not seem like a trustworthy source.]

But she’s super smart and knows lots of magic and I don’t think she’d lie to me.

[doopdoll]

Was this fairy an adult?

[madeofpine]

Yeah, she is. Why?

[doopdoll]

That explains it. Grown ups lie. It's what they do. You're real, no matter what she says.

[madeofpine]

...They do?

[But that doesn't make any sense.]

I dunno, the grown-ups I know were always teaching me not to lie. They wouldn't break their own rules, would they?

[Molly approaches him again- but this time, it's to lay a sympathetic hand on his shoulder. She looks sad.]

...Yeah. They would. Even adults you love and trust, who you thought were good before, can be bad.

[madeofpine]

But not every adult. I know the ones I know from home wouldn't ever be bad. They're supposed to help me do the right thing so I can be real-- that means they're good.

[doopdoll]

Yeah. That's what I thought too-- my mom and dad were just like the adults in your life. They taught me to be good, they were doctors that helped people--- but they lied. They were bad. Just like the fairy that told you that you aren't real.

[madeofpine]

Gee... I'm real sorry.

[He still doesn't want to fully believe her, though. He's sure there's got to be exceptions. Maybe some of the adults he knew were sorta strict, but they were trying to help him, and they had to be good because of that. But that doesn't mean he can't sympathize-- he can't imagine how it would feel to find out someone you trusted wasn't actually good.]

I... I guess I never thought about it before. I thought adults were supposed to know right and wrong, mostly.

Well. They don't.

Uh... yeah, I sure am! You've taught me a whole lot already.
