[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

Well, don't worry about that, dude. It was just an accident, and believe me, I've heard of people doing a lot worse on purpose.

[Doraemon sure is a show that exists.] Yeah...everything worked out in the end! And there were some gadgets that worked out better, like the Pet Polish! I wanted a dog, but my mom wouldn't let me, so Doraemon found a gadget that made a rock come alive and act like a dog!

Wow, that sounds really cool! And probably really fun to play with!

[Soos probably would've made half the objects in his house alive if he had that stuff.

Meanwhile, he's noticed that the water has finished boiling, grabs the the bag of rice, opens it up, and starts pouring it in.]

This is the right thing to do, right?

[I mean it only works on rocks and mineral-based stuff, so hopefully not everything.]

Yeah, I think so! And then we just wait for it to get all white and soft, right?

[Fine then. All the rocks in his yard would be alive instead.]

Alright, just let me pour the rest of this in, then.

[And he does so, pouring in all the rice and emptying the bag.]

How long do you think it'll take to cook?

I'm not really sure...when mom uses a rice cooker she can just let it sit until it starts steaming. I guess we just need to watch it for a bit? [Don't you know a watched pot never boils, Noby?]

Yeah, or we could just wait for it to do that little steam shriek thing that sometimes happens.

[Soos, what you are talking about is a teapot boiling water. This is not even close to that.]

I thought that was only for tea? [But who knows? He doesn't cook much, after all.]

Oh, uh right. That's how it works.

[Didn't think he'd learn a simple lesson from a child today.]

So if we just gotta watch it, this shouldn't be too hard, right?

Yeah. I guess so! [Do you need to stir it? Well...you don't have to do anything for a rice cooker, so it should be fine, right?]

Is there anything else we should talk about? Kinda weird to just stare at a pot for a while in silence.

Haha, yeah...so, um, your first name is Jesus? [He vaguely knows the Bible story, so that's how he ends up pronouncing it.]

It's...it's Jesus, with the J sounding more like an H.

[He's getting so many laughs out of people misunderstanding his name. It's crazy.]

Oh! [He looks a little embarrassed.] You can pronounce it that way too?

[He giggles a little bit.]

N-no, it's...it's a different name entirely.

[At least he thinks it is.]

Oh! Why's it spelled like that, then? [I mean, he's teaching a kid to read, he probably needs to know about this.]

Huh. Spelling is weird. [That's all he can figure out from this conversation, at least.]

Yeah. It can be super confusing sometimes.

Yeah-oh! The rice! [There's steam coming from it...or is that smoke?]

Oh shoot! Sorry!

[Soos quickly lifts the lid of the pot to get a face full of steam. He quickly then grabs a pair of oven mitts from a drawer and lifts the pot off the stove and on to the counter.]

Okay, um...is there anything else we gotta do?

[He thinks that should be the end, but he's not sure.]

Um...we haven't heated the beans yet, right? Or can we just mix them in? [Mmm cold beans and hot rice.]

Oh, right, the beans. Well, wouldn't they heat up from the rice or something?

[That sounds right, right?]

...yeah, I guess. And that means it won't be too hot, right?

Yeah, exactly!

[He takes the lid off the pot again, waving away a bit of the steam that comes out as he does so.]

Do you think you can find a can opener? I feel like I should keep an eye on this thing.

[Gestures to the pot.]
