Week 1

[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

Let the games begin.]

[MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY]

Depends on the type of spirit! Just normal ghosts look pretty much how they did when they were alive. Usually just do poltergeist stuff, or sit around feeling sorry for themselves. Not super useful.

The ones Dad usually works with, though... [she puts her hands in front of the projector light, wriggling her fingers to form a mass of teeming, spindly shadows-- some like grasping claws, others vicious teeth.] Way more fun. Also, complete jerks. Loa, if the word means anything to you.

[ ...Those are definitely not shadows that should be physically possible, not with a single pair of human hands. ]

Can't say I've heard the word before today. [ That shadow-figure display really is quite something to watch. ] I take it there's notable variation within this "Loa" category as well?
faciliheir: (just a little something we have here)

Oh, they're all different. It's a little bit like the Greek gods; everybody's got their own likes and dislikes, and control different things.

[grins a little absently] I never thought I'd be the one giving remedial voodoo lessons to anybody... The student really does become the teacher, huh?

Ah. Less "sub-categories" then, and more "individuals"? [ Thinks this over, getting out his pipe. ] That must make knowing how to deal with a new one rather tricky.

...I'd assume there's some method to initiate contact--but are there ways to... hm. To do something of a background check, as it were, without initiating contact? This strikes me as the type of thing one only does with prior preparations.

[ Should he even respond to her last comment? It was probably self-directed.

...

Oh, why not.
] Good teacher, good student, knowledge worth knowing--it's certainly a worthwhile cycle.

There might be some books on them in that library; it definitely seems spooky enough to have some.

[shrugs] I don't know. Most of the stuff I know is just abstract in the first place; I didn't even have access to magic until a little while back, back home. But, I guess that still leaves me better off than most of you guys.
