Week 1
[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?
The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.
Let the games begin.]
[MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY SATURDAY]
The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.
Let the games begin.]

[He glances between it and Basil a few times before shrugging.]
Not really, I guess. I was maybe gonna break some stuff, but maybe that's not a very good plan.
[Given that once it's broken there's a chance it won't actually be replaced.]
no subject
They're just in the way, as things are now.
no subject
Hey, that's a great idea, thanks! I didn't even think of that.
[He just. Abruptly changes course, heading for the stairs instead.]
no subject
Take care not to hit the walls, of course--wouldn't want to damage those.
[ Basil tags along: partly in case anyone tries to interfere and partly because this is totally how responsibility works, kinda, right? ]
no subject
[He's slightly concerned he will hit the walls, because the ax is kind of hard to lift up to begin with, let alone aim correctly-- but Basil seems smart and experienced so he probably wouldn't suggest it if it wasn't a good idea.
Whatever. It's fine.]
Are you sure it'll work?
no subject
[ They do need to get through those doors, the sooner the better. But if they start chopping up the walls... ]
Perhaps you ought to get a bit of practice in first. Give you a feel for how it swings. [ And double-check Pinocchio can at least aim it. ]
no subject
[Or perhaps the better question is what is he supposed to practice on.]
no subject
[ The "what" is obviously furniture--but which furniture? (right back to the original problem)
Ah! Of course! ] The furniture in my rooms! It's all far too over-sized for a mouse--if anything, your dismantling it would be helpful. I certainly won't miss any of it.
no subject
[Following that line of thinking, maybe Remy would let him destroy his furniture, too, afterwards. He can only hope.]
So which room is yours?
no subject
[ Sets off, motioning for Pinocchio to follow. ]
It's one nearest that room our host dedicated to "moving pictures".
no subject
[Though it's still a bit of a trek, given that dragging the ax along makes for slow progress.]
I was gonna try destroying the moving picture machine a couple'a days ago because it's kinda creepy. But furniture nobody's using is a better idea.
no subject
[ Slow progress, but progress all the same! ]
No reason to antagonize each other unnecessarily, given our situation here.
no subject
[The films are all boring and weird, he's seriously judging anyone who isn't slightly scared of them.]
But you're probably right. They might murder somebody if they were bored enough.
no subject
And there is always the interest inherent in the tech..nology... [ You know what can happen when you know magic is real? Items you don't fully understand can stop being intriguing puzzles to work out. Sure, he's aware of perfectly mundane innovations that are somewhat similar to this device, but that's hardly a guarantee this one isn't actually powered by sinister magics. ]
...I am more than ready to be back in London. [ "It's magic!" should never be a genuinely plausible possibility. It's wrong and he hates it. ]
no subject
[He kind of just stops and glances at Basil with concern when he trails off. It's... weird to actually need to be helpful like this, but. He tries.]
Well... it's a good thing we're gonna find a way to escape real soon, right? I bet there's a window right past the door, and once we break it down we can all go home.
no subject
I rather doubt it's going to be that simple. But there is something we're being kept away from--getting to it is at least one step towards escape. ...Or perhaps there'll simply be the magical equivalent of a window after all, heh.

...And really, given this is her father, I should think she'd be the one most familiar with what sort of thing we're up against. I wish more people would listen to at least as much as "there's no physical exit". Somebody ought to check the accuracy of that, yes, but the current number of us focused on that alone is very frustrating.
no subject
But what if there's nothing up there? What're we supposed to do then?
no subject
[ He hadn't considered that getting past the doors might not even be helpful. ]
We need to see what is or isn't up there before we decide how to proceed--but there is also quite the library here, there's bound to be useful information somewhere. There's a loophole in the magic keeping us here, or a way to fend off this "Phantom". There is something to be found or realized, there always is.
no subject
[Really, he figures it won't be that hard to figure out the rules of the magic here and get out. It's just figuring it out before someone kills that's the hard part, given some of the people here.]

But I dunno. Maybe there's more books upstairs, too, and those might be different.
