[...So that was a mess. All of it was a mess, and things don't look to be improving any time soon. With tensions at an all-time high and conditions worsened, it seems pretty safe to say that this whole week promises a great deal of foreboding atmosphere.

But, hey, things aren't entirely bad. Just as Randall promised, you're now able to leave the Manor!

Just don't stay out there for too long. There's still a lot of you, and you just can't afford to lose numbers.

[Now Marco's scrambling to his feet, taking a couple of steps towards Hiro but not too many because he doesn't want to make this situation worse, somehow.]

Star has a boyfriend! She's had a boyfriend ever since I came back to Mewni and I had a girlfriend when she lived with me in Earth and we're, like, totally fine with our relationship the way it is!

She's scary! What if she crawls out of Hell to give me The Talk? If anyone could do it, it would be her!

[He heard Star yelling at Marco at the party!! He doesn't want to be on the wrong end of that!!!]

[That actually gets a small laugh out of Marco, and he can feel all the tension from earlier starting to relax a little bit.]

She was totally chill when it came to Jackie! She was even the one who helped me get together with her in the first place.

[Marco moves a little bit closer to Hiro, raising his hand to brush his bangs out of his eyes.]

Honestly? She's probably screaming right now over how stupid we're being.

Marco, what if she, like, turns me into a newt because I'm not good enough?

[Marco moves forward again, closing the gap so he can just tug the other teen towards him, and wrap his arms around him tightly.]

We give Mochi avocado sometimes, so it's probably fine.

[Okay side note: the fact that Hiro's cat's name is Mochi just gave him like. +50 cute points.]

[There's a teasing tone to Marco's voice, but his face is absolutely red just thinking about that again.]

And honestly that was probably the worst kissing experience in either of our lives so I kind of want to, like, replace it with the memory of a better one I guess.

I dunno! I figured maybe you had some friends your age from high school or something?

[look at them not ten minutes into their relationship and already arguing]

I graduated high school at 13.

[Not that??? He had???? Friends anyway???? But they still would have been four years older than him. He doesn't say it meanly, just like. A statement of fact.]

.....you are one smart cookie.

[He'd ask "but what about middle school or elementary didn't you make friends then?" but honestly he already kind of feels like he knows the answer to that.]
