WEEK 1

[Well... That sure did happen. After Swackhammer is done ranting about his terrible group of hostages, everyone is free to explore the surrounding area. But true to his word, it still seems to be heavily under construction, and any areas not on the map are surrounded by giant walls. Have fun with your two small areas of Moron Mountain (just be thankful you have clean underwear).

You don't seem to be entirely alone in this park either, as you will find one other employee if you search Swackhammer Avenue well enough.

Not exactly the most populated park, huh?

But hey, you can exit the park at least! Except the only thing they'll find is a seedy hotel in the dense fog. After searching, most people will come to realize that this is your living quarters, what with the bios that line the front wall. But hey at least you know you have food beyond hot dogs and smoothies!

Have fun, little toons! There are surly wacky adventures that await you.]

{OOC: Welcome to NonDisney's Foolish Mortals! As per usual, there will be no murders committed on the first week! (I mean... not case murders, I'm not sure I trust this disaster cast) If you want to investigate, please put up an INVESTIGATION note in the top level, and put up the name of the NPC you want to communicate there as well if you'd like to do that! Hope you enjoy your stay everyone ;)

Well...it seems the Looney Tunes were never here. They had the game where they lived instead of on Moron Mountain...so only the Park Owner's employees would have left. And they probably had a special vehicle from him or something similar to that. [There's a pause.] Although I guess he probably has one of his own.

He's a park owner. He should have the money.

Where did you find that book?

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-07 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well...apparently they're already losing money at the beginning of the book, which is why the whole conflict starts. [She gestures in the direction of the hotel.] It was in my room. I think everyone has a copy.

[Legal money is what they didn't have. Every business requires income from shady, underhanded practices and some from sources that can be written in official records. And they needed the money to kidnap these "Looney Tunes," so the lack of funds isn't the problem. Her guess is that they lose a source of revenue.

Granted, this is all in her head, and she just sits quietly thinking for half a minute.]

Oh, we have rooms. [She didn't bother to check the fog, it looked kind of dull.] Then he wants us to know the story.

[She nods.] There's a hotel outside the park. And...just a hotel. And fog. As for why...it's kind of odd. This story doesn't make him look good at all. In fact, he's the villain in it.

[A pause] Considering how he greeted us, I guess he has no problem with being seen as one.

Some people are like that.

[Some people like to be seen as eccentric billionaires who wouldn't orchestrate a war profiteering plot.]

The question is if it's intended to be a warning or a publicity stunt.

[She flips ahead a few pages.] I suppose depending on what happened to his previous employees, it might be a warning about what he could do. [A pause as she reads one line of the ending.] Huh. They rebelled against him in the end.

[personal profile] notthebattleship 2018-06-07 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[That's a dumb thing to add.]

It makes him look pathetic. [Or that's what he wants.]
essentiallyinvisible: (studying)

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-07 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[She nods again.] Maybe he's not even the one who left the books there. The hotel is outside his park, after all.
notthebattleship: (no sir you're just a dick)

[personal profile] notthebattleship 2018-06-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
If he's too lazy to prepare the rooms, then he has people working for him.
essentiallyinvisible: (thinking about things)

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-08 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
[She nods.] Although I haven't met any of them so far. But there has to be someone providing the breakfasts. [Even if they're...not that great quality. And possibly really old.]

[personal profile] notthebattleship 2018-06-08 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Cooks, janitors, engineers, and supply. There's a lot of people that work behind the scenes at a large operation.
essentiallyinvisible: (thinking about things)

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-08 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well...I'm not sure about janitors. Or at least they aren't cleaning the places we can see. [Part of the place is literally made of trash.]
notthebattleship: (no sir you're just a dick)

[personal profile] notthebattleship 2018-06-09 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
If that was literally trash, we'd be swarmed with rats.
essentiallyinvisible: (thinking about things)

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-09 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
That's true. [She takes a pause to consider some more.] Or they just don't exist on this planet.
notthebattleship: (well time to die)

[personal profile] notthebattleship 2018-06-09 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a scenario to keep in mind.

[But she's certain that's unlikely unless they took extra precautions in transporting food.]

The shipments of supplies have to come from somewhere, then. There's far more happening behind the scenes. The trick to getting back is to find a way into the back rooms.

[personal profile] essentiallyinvisible 2018-06-10 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose it's most likely that they would try to do their work while we slept. So we might be able to find out where they're coming from if we stake out the breakfast area. [Since there's proof it's being refilled.]
