[Well... That sure did happen. After Swackhammer is done ranting about his terrible group of hostages, everyone is free to explore the surrounding area. But true to his word, it still seems to be heavily under construction, and any areas not on the map are surrounded by giant walls. Have fun with your two small areas of Moron Mountain (just be thankful you have clean underwear).

You don't seem to be entirely alone in this park either, as you will find one other employee if you search Swackhammer Avenue well enough.

Not exactly the most populated park, huh?

But hey, you can exit the park at least! Except the only thing they'll find is a seedy hotel in the dense fog. After searching, most people will come to realize that this is your living quarters, what with the bios that line the front wall. But hey at least you know you have food beyond hot dogs and smoothies!

Oh, gosh, no! Actually... I know it's pretty vain, but it's a little flattering, right? It's obviously not something I'm used to.

Really? Why not? [At least as far as the Little Girl can tell, she looks quite pretty. Then again she has mentioned being kind of different fro the main group...]

You know, I'm just... kind of a weirdo. I'm not really the kind of girl people at school are interested in.

Why do they think you're a "weirdo"? [A pause] Is it because you like books? [That is so sad]

And art. And trees. And I don't really like spending all my money on gadgets and gizmos and whosits and whatsits. [laughs] Doesn't really get me on too many lists for parties.

Wow. That's...really sad. [Why is capitalism like this.] Still, you've got other people who like books here. [She smiles encouragingly.] If I find any more, I'll definitely tell you about them.

And if I find any, you'll be the first to know! [smiles back] As long as we all stick together, we'll find our way out of this mess in no time!

Yeah. And there's definitely going to be people looking for us too!

... Gosh, I hope not. Ted has to be pulling double tree duty; he has no time for rescuing anything!

Double tree duty? So he cares about trees too? [She's relieved to hear Audrey has someone helping her out.]

Gosh, yes, Ted is the best! He went outside of town-- multiple times-- just to try to find me a tree! And then he actually did it, and even when everyone was against us, he never gave up!

He's pretty much the best friend I've ever had. Which is sad, because he's twelve, but it's also true.

[Oh my god her town didn't even have trees that's even more tragic.]

It's not that weird! My first friend was my neighbor and he was older than anyone here! Probably. [She's not quite sure how it works for the nonhumans okay.]

Oh, wow, really? Did he have gray hair? [that means you're old]

Yeah, and a long beard! [Another big sign that you're old.]

Gosh, that's really old. [IMPRESSIVE] Ted says he found a guy that old out in the wastes, but I'm still not sure if I believe him or not.

Well-out in the wastes? So there aren't any old people living close by?

[treefetish]

Well, there's Ted's grandma, and maybe two or three others... But, no, there's not many people from too long before Thneedville was founded. [she doesn't know why]

[Yeah, that is kind of odd.] Maybe they live somewhere else? Like that old man Ted told you about? [Maybe there's a secret retirement home out there in the Wastes.]

[treefetish]

I'm not even sure that man is real... I mean, you can barely even breathe the air outside of town. Nothing grows; what'd he eat? There's no way somebody could survive out there for a week, let alone decades!

Maybe he has a greenhouse? Or he's lived long enough out there to adapt.

[treefetish]

[thinks...]

Maybe he's a mutant. Or a ghost.

If he's a ghost, that might make even more sense that Ted's the one who found him. Maybe he's the kind of ghost that only kids can see or something!
