Final Trial

[After everyone is done investigating the rooms, they will hear a faint creeek from the mansion’s entrance. Once they heads towards the noise they will discover a set of stairs leading to the basement that definitely weren’t there earlier.

Once they head downstairs, they will find themselves in a long hallway that seems to stretch out forever. It doesn’t, luckily, but eventually the hallway ends at a large empty room, with just a throne in the center.

The living guests will immediately realize they're not alone because King Dice is here already laying across the throne and smoking a cigar. He grins at the survivors and stand up.]

Well congrats, kids! I must say I’m impressed that that you managed to get down here alive, considering who was leading ya.

Now, I’m sure y’all have a lot of questions about what’s going on but I gotta settle something first:

[He looks directly at Michael.]

Mikey, I believe we have to finish our arrangement now.

[And- handing back those photos. She's not a monster. Just an incredibly violent young girl who somehow managed not to kill anyone in the last month or so.]

And I think anyone should be worried about being turned into some kind of- puppet or something. How sure are you that you even wanted to work for Smoke before he gave you those drugs?

Pretty dang sure. I was at a low point in my life, and Smoke gave me a new job and a way to make me feel happy again! Even the most cautious person would be curious about a deal like that.

I mean I'm saying he probably sort of tricked you into taking it? Or got you all loopy on that stuff so you'd agree to things you normally wouldn't- or. Um. At least wouldn't agree to from him, anyway.

[Cause. Devil, apparently.]

And sooner or later he's probably just going to turn you into a zombie thing? I believe you don't care about killing anyone- but do you really want to just have no choice about it at all?

[There is a long, thoughtful pause at the mention of being tricked into agreeing.]

No he's not? Anyone that makes you run a game where people get killed isn't good, and- I can't lie, I still kind of really want to kill you? What if I'd actually been strong enough to do that during Lilliane's trial, or if we'd managed to put a plan together that worked? Do you really think he would've done anything to stop it?

And- um. ...I bet this meeting, this one right now, here, was his idea, right? Having us come to this mansion and look around and stuff?

It's part of why you're doing this to begin with, so it's kind of relevant anyway? But- you said you'd fought someone "confident" before, not that you'd actually won the fight. Did your friend try fighting them too, after you lost?
