Mock Gaiden Trial

[After everyone has finished investigating the horrendous death of a poor dog (and also a couple of disasters who somehow gotten themselves killed, everyone will hear a loud click from the direction of Superstar Studios. A few moments later, the Agent’s voice is heard.]

Ok that’s enough rehearsal there! Time for the show! Everyone break a leg okay?

[As everyone enters the Studio, the first thing that hits them is the blinding lights, making it impossible to see anything for the first few moments.

Once their eyes adjust, they’ll realize that they are definitely in a really tacky movie studios. There are some cheap cardboard cutouts of monsters and city skylines, cameras that look pretty out of date, and the whole place looks like it was built on a shoestring budget.

In the middle of the studio there are rows of directors chairs for every guest that woke up here, with Rod, Ghost Host, and Stan’s chairs just knocked over. In front of them stands the Agent, grinning in an extremely uncanny way.]

I’m impressed! Three bodies is impressive after that first week of nothin’! I’m gonna make sure that culprit gets an extra special reward if they manage to get away with it.

[A small pause, then:]

Okay, my shining stars. You all have to figure out who killed your fellow actors so they don’t get away with it! If they do, they get their reward while everyone else will be punished instead.

There’s no set time limit, but make sure you don’t make it borin’. The cameras are rolling and I ain’t going to let the people watch another boring average reality show!

[Good thinking! Because almost as soon as she gets out of the way someone bursts through the door to tackle Hugh Laurie.]

[A giant furry monster just tackles Hugh Laurie to the ground, and a bunch of other monsters run in to restrain the man.]

You're under arrest for illegal scaring!

[The monsters lift up Hugh Laurie up and grin at Bill.]

"Sure, I don't see why we should have all the fun!"

[PRETEEN SCREAMING]

[One of the monsters perks up at that and tries to help out the screaming girl.]

"Hey kid, don't worry! We're not in the scaring business anymore!"

[Did he do it?]

[ Well Lopmon ceases her attacks in surprise. ]

...Digimon...?

[ no honey no one here is a digimon please stop trying ]

[Holy shit a baby's here. Some of the monsters move towards Lopmon, both in adoration and mild horror.]

"Aww there's a baby monster here!"

"Did this jerk really kidnap a baby for his weird experiment?"

"You think you've seen it all..."

[southgatekept]

[ Ohhh no, the only one who can treat her like a baby is Suzie. Lopmon puffs up in offense. ]

I-I am not a Baby! I am two levels about that, a-and even though I'm at the Rookie level right now, I am the last of the Devas created by the Sovereign, to protect the Digital World!

"Oh you're just a cutest little thing! Thinking he's protecting the world!"

"How many bad guys have you fought? Please tell us!"

I am!! I will not dignify you with an answer!

[ Crosses her arms, looks away! ]

"Aww don't be upset! We're just happy you're okay!"

"You have no idea how upset we would have been if we found out that this maniac killed a monster like you! ... Or more humans, for that matter,"

[But mostly the monster, tbh.]

You know there's, like, five questionably-people beings that died today, right.

"Yeah but they're still not monsters!"

[One of monster pushes the others with one of their many arms.]

"Of course their losses are tragic, and we mourn how we weren't able to save them,"

I...would just like all of us to be returned to our homes, right now... If that's possible.

[Leaps back because she was going to do that??

Immediately begins grasping for a sword that she doesn't have.]

[One of the monsters cheerfully waves at Cassandra.]

"Nice to meet ya too, kid!"
