[Now that the Narrator is done explaining the situation, you all have time to assess the situation and maybe even work together to find a way out. After all, clearly the Narrator is being over dramatic and it can't be that hard to escape out of here without murdering everyone, right?

But, with the doors outside indeed locked and all the windows unbreakable, it might not be a bad idea to explore the hotel, either for alternative methods of escape or to relieve boredom. Your Narrator is also now available for private chat in case you want to interrogate him or throw more stuff at his face.

If the locked doors aren't bad enough, when everyone goes back to the lobby, they'll notice a plaque on the front desk. If you thought your Narrator wasn't serious before, this is damning evidence to the contrary.

Either way, we really do hope you enjoy your stay in this hotel.]

It's worth a shot! Maybe if it works, we can see if you can get anything on the TVs besides Muppet Treasure Island.

[Does she like that movie? She sure used to before that was the only thing she could watch.]

[If only they at least had TV to watch other than the movie, yeah. Virgil goes to the television, puts his hands on top of it and focuses.

The screen lightens up a little, but there's no image, not even static. After a moment it's clear nothing else will happen. Virgil hits the top of the TV]

Darn it! It's useless!

Hey, don't stress yourself out. It's always harder to use powers when you're upset.

[At least it is where she's from, and she figures that it's true of pretty much anywhere.]

That...never really stopped me? It's like there's only one setting, except when there's a solar flare.

[He taps the TV softly]

It's just that if I had them we'd all be out already. It's frustrating.

There's a lot less . . . control for Fairlies when we're upset. I can knock everything in a room over, but I wouldn't be able to direct any of it. [She shrugs, giving a small smile.] Either way, I imagine not being able to use powers normally is probably for that exact reason. I . . . haven't actually tried to use mine to their full extent.

What kind of stuff can you usually do?

I can levitate myself or someone else, move objects, throw things . . . Um, once I threw someone out of a window? He sort of deserved it, but it wasn't my finest hour.

I dunno, if you ask me, throwing someone out of a window is impressive.

[As long as that's what you wanted to do]

It was impressive, but I probably wouldn't do it in most situations. I don't think most people can survive a two-story fall.

Now that you talk about this, I'm curious: when you make something float, do you feel how heavy it is? Like, in your head or something?

Sort of? It's doesn't really - it's not like I'm actually holding the object, but I can sort of tell if I need to use more or less force, if that makes sense? [Oh, but to get back to her earlier point:] When I lose control, though, I can't really tell. I just throw everything as far as it'll go.
