Week 1

[Now that the Narrator is done explaining the situation, you all have time to assess the situation and maybe even work together to find a way out. After all, clearly the Narrator is being over dramatic and it can't be that hard to escape out of here without murdering everyone, right?

But, with the doors outside indeed locked and all the windows unbreakable, it might not be a bad idea to explore the hotel, either for alternative methods of escape or to relieve boredom. Your Narrator is also now available for private chat in case you want to interrogate him or throw more stuff at his face.

If the locked doors aren't bad enough, when everyone goes back to the lobby, they'll notice a plaque on the front desk. If you thought your Narrator wasn't serious before, this is damning evidence to the contrary.

Either way, we really do hope you enjoy your stay in this hotel.]

[ Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday ]

{OOC And this'll be the last mod post for the week! Feel free to drop your coins into the penny press once you've earned them. And because this is a peace week, there will be no murder committed!  And if you plan on investigating, just let us know in your toplevel by putting in INVESTIGATION. Have fun while you still can!]

I do appreciate it, trust me. You should offer some to Thalia too at some point.

I'll take her some after the muffins are done.

[She is, in fact, pouring two smoothies right now. When she's finished adding a caramel swirl, she hands it out to Reyna.]

Here you go! Normally it comes with whipped cream, but I don't know how to make it from scratch.
audentiae: (in my soul)

You're better at making this stuff than me, I just order from the coffeeshops when I'm in New Rome.

[ not that she orders coffee, but no one has to know that!!

anyway, she takes a sip. ]

It's good.

We sometimes learn how to make food items at school so we have a better idea how to "make magic happen." [Metaphorical magic, but.] It's part of my job to learn how to make Disney the best possible experience for everyone who visits, which I guess sort of applies here? I think Uncle Walt would be disappointed if I didn't try to make your stay easier, at least.
audentiae: (the wonderful part of the mess we made)

[personal profile] audentiae 2017-10-10 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
Walt Disney is your uncle?
fairlypushy: (fairly awkward)

[personal profile] fairlypushy 2017-10-10 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Not literally - well, I don't really know much about my family, so I guess he could be? But we call him Uncle Walt because it makes it easier to talk about him in public without people thinking we're crazy. [Which they sure have to do.] Me and the Kingdom Keepers, I mean.
audentiae: (. dig them up)

[personal profile] audentiae 2017-10-10 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
I apologize for following up with another question, but... Kingdom Keepers?

[ YOUR LIFE SOUNDS WEIRD ]
fairlypushy: (fairly uncomfortable)

[personal profile] fairlypushy 2017-10-10 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, right. Um. [Oh god how does she explain this???] When Uncle Walt created Disneyland, the magic he infused in creating the park made everything real. That means Mickey Mouse is real, but it also means that the villains in those stories are real and . . . they eventually formed a group called the Overtakers that wants to take over the whole world.

[She pauses, awkwardly taking a sip of her smoothie. It's always weird to explain the situation to outsiders.]

So Uncle Walt, um. Well, actually it was Wayne but that's splitting hairs. The point is me, my friends, and my sister were chosen to protect the Magic Kingdom. To keep it safe from the Overtakers and make sure it stays the Happiest Place on Earth.

[ She takes all that in, thinking it over. ]

I wouldn't have taken Walt Disney for a magician. They don't tend to stay in the public eye like that, and I'm fairly certain he's a mortal.

[ She's also pretty sure that's not how magic works, but uh. Details. ]
fairlypushy: (fairly unconvinced)

[personal profile] fairlypushy 2017-10-12 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he's not a magician. His pen is magic, but anybody can use it to bring what they draw to life - my sister used it once, in conjunction with her powers to predict the future, to make something happen.

[Essentially they played real-life Scribblenauts and won a battle against Overtakers.]
audentiae: (so nothing's left untouched)

[personal profile] audentiae 2017-10-12 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. Perhaps he did a quest for a god or something.

[ Heck if she knows. ]

It seems like a very powerful piece of magic, to put in the hands of a mortal.

[personal profile] fairlypushy 2017-10-12 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
[He actually did a favor for a "Gypsy" and got the pen as thanks, according to canon, but Amanda has forgotten that she knows that so.]

That's why we protect it. I mean, it would be bad if it fell into the wrong hands, but more importantly he thought that what he created should belong to everybody. Not literally, but figuratively. Mickey Mouse if for everyone, you know?

audentiae: (let's finish what we started)

[personal profile] audentiae 2017-10-13 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
I... suppose so. I do at least know what Mickey Mouse is, even where I am.

[ yeah hi Amanda Reyna doesn't know shit about disney ]

You're from . . . Rome or something, right? Thalia is the one from Greece.
