[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?

The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.

Yeah, it's just rice and water! [He grins and shakes his hand.] Oh right! I'm Noby! I think I saw your name in that room too.

[Oh yeah, this was the kid whose pictures all had him crying or clearly embarrassed.

And you're the kid who can time travel and stuff, right?

Well, kind of! I have a time machine in my desk drawer! Although I'm not supposed to use it without Doraemon...

Dude, that's still pretty cool. I've never time traveled myself, but it sound pretty awesome. You should talk to my friend Mabel about it. She time traveled a bunch once during this last summer.

[Soos then realizes that the pot is nearly full, so he turns the faucet off and puts the pot on the stove.]

So, uh, do put the rice in first, or do we turn the stove on first?

Oh yeah, I met her! She didn't mention that bit, though!

[He looks at the pot, blinking a bit.]

I think we just mix it together? That's how it works for rice cookers.

Well, it was only once during the summer, I think. She might not just mention it casually.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

[He turns the stove on and, while waiting for it to boil, decides to make some nice small talk.]

So, how'd you even get that time machine?

Well, um, the stuff about my grandson coming from the future is true! But he brought along this robot cat named Doraemon! He's one of my best friends now, and he has all kinds of gadgets! And since sometimes he needs to go back to the future to get fixed or go to the robot doctor the time machine is still there for him to use.

...that sounds crazy bonkers cool, dude.

What kind of gadgets does he have? Does he have, like, a futuristic laser gun thing? Or maybe some sort of laser sword?

[Tell him a crazy story. He's like one of the only two adults that might believe you.]

Well, he has a future gun, but it doesn't really fire lasers? It's called the Evo-Devo gun, and it changes animals or things to their future or past forms! Although I might have messed around with it too much and accidentally turned a tiny mouse into a monster... [He looks embarrassed about that, at least.]

He's also got a phone that can call aliens! But sometimes they get mad about being called...so it's not always a good idea, because one of them got mad enough he wanted to destroy Earth... [It's because you prank called them, Noby. Don't prank call aliens.]

[Well, that sounds...interesting...]

Well, don't worry about that, dude. It was just an accident, and believe me, I've heard of people doing a lot worse on purpose.

[Doraemon sure is a show that exists.] Yeah...everything worked out in the end! And there were some gadgets that worked out better, like the Pet Polish! I wanted a dog, but my mom wouldn't let me, so Doraemon found a gadget that made a rock come alive and act like a dog!

Wow, that sounds really cool! And probably really fun to play with!

[Soos probably would've made half the objects in his house alive if he had that stuff.

Meanwhile, he's noticed that the water has finished boiling, grabs the the bag of rice, opens it up, and starts pouring it in.]

This is the right thing to do, right?

[I mean it only works on rocks and mineral-based stuff, so hopefully not everything.]

Yeah, I think so! And then we just wait for it to get all white and soft, right?

[Fine then. All the rocks in his yard would be alive instead.]

Alright, just let me pour the rest of this in, then.

[And he does so, pouring in all the rice and emptying the bag.]

How long do you think it'll take to cook?

I'm not really sure...when mom uses a rice cooker she can just let it sit until it starts steaming. I guess we just need to watch it for a bit? [Don't you know a watched pot never boils, Noby?]

Yeah, or we could just wait for it to do that little steam shriek thing that sometimes happens.

[Soos, what you are talking about is a teapot boiling water. This is not even close to that.]

I thought that was only for tea? [But who knows? He doesn't cook much, after all.]

Oh, uh right. That's how it works.

[Didn't think he'd learn a simple lesson from a child today.]

So if we just gotta watch it, this shouldn't be too hard, right?

Yeah. I guess so! [Do you need to stir it? Well...you don't have to do anything for a rice cooker, so it should be fine, right?]

Is there anything else we should talk about? Kinda weird to just stare at a pot for a while in silence.

Haha, yeah...so, um, your first name is Jesus? [He vaguely knows the Bible story, so that's how he ends up pronouncing it.]

It's...it's Jesus, with the J sounding more like an H.

[He's getting so many laughs out of people misunderstanding his name. It's crazy.]

Oh! [He looks a little embarrassed.] You can pronounce it that way too?

[He giggles a little bit.]

N-no, it's...it's a different name entirely.
