Week 1
[Well that was a busy day, huh? But despite all that, a good majority of you are reasonable people, and are smart enough to find an escape without resorting to deadly violence. Maybe if you put your heads together, you'll find a way to get out of here! After all, the host is practically in shambles already, what can he do?
The whole first floor of the manor is open for your leasure now, with the only change being that there's now a set of rules in the foyer hanging on the wall.
Let the games begin.]

[ But back on subject. ] Hm. There's a good many more people here than strictly needed for simply obfuscating a culprit's identity. Even given his having done this twice before: one murder isn't all he's after, is it.

[she stares at him for a moment, an odd smirk on her face.]
If somebody goes and kills somebody tomorrow, and they get away with it-- whatever that means-- do you really think the other 20-odd people just get to skip on out of here behind them?

None of--[ waves an arm at... sorta everything in general ]--this is real where I'm from. I've a lot of catching-up to do. Starting with everyone who didn't react to your father's performance with disbelief.
You did say you expected someone to find a way out of this before you paid the price--that suggests there is something, somewhere, that can be worked with.

Getting out of here depends on a bunch of different things: what sort of spirit is behind all this, what we can find... My real hopes right now are kinda pinned on somebody getting in. Usually, if there's villains doing something bad, there's some good guys going around trying to stop them. Fingers crossed on those guys being at least a little bit competent.

Maybe the best escape would be orchestrated from the outside, by someone who already knows the ins and outs of this brand of magic--that doesn't make simply waiting to be rescued any less a waste of time. A dull waste of time, at that. There must be something at least marginally useful I can do from in here.

Oh, you can dig a hole through your bathroom wall with a spoon! That's something, right? [shes helping]
A+ keywords Freddie
Any recommendations on what to look for, when it comes to identifying spirits? I'm afraid I've no intention of burrowing into my neighbor's rooms.

The ones Dad usually works with, though... [she puts her hands in front of the projector light, wriggling her fingers to form a mass of teeming, spindly shadows-- some like grasping claws, others vicious teeth.] Way more fun. Also, complete jerks. Loa, if the word means anything to you.
no subject
Can't say I've heard the word before today. [ That shadow-figure display really is quite something to watch. ] I take it there's notable variation within this "Loa" category as well?

[grins a little absently] I never thought I'd be the one giving remedial voodoo lessons to anybody... The student really does become the teacher, huh?
no subject
...I'd assume there's some method to initiate contact--but are there ways to... hm. To do something of a background check, as it were, without initiating contact? This strikes me as the type of thing one only does with prior preparations.
[ Should he even respond to her last comment? It was probably self-directed.
...
Oh, why not. ] Good teacher, good student, knowledge worth knowing--it's certainly a worthwhile cycle.

[shrugs] I don't know. Most of the stuff I know is just abstract in the first place; I didn't even have access to magic until a little while back, back home. But, I guess that still leaves me better off than most of you guys.
