Mock Gaiden Trial

[After everyone has finished investigating the horrendous death of a poor dog (and also a couple of disasters who somehow gotten themselves killed, everyone will hear a loud click from the direction of Superstar Studios. A few moments later, the Agent’s voice is heard.]

Ok that’s enough rehearsal there! Time for the show! Everyone break a leg okay?

[As everyone enters the Studio, the first thing that hits them is the blinding lights, making it impossible to see anything for the first few moments.

Once their eyes adjust, they’ll realize that they are definitely in a really tacky movie studios. There are some cheap cardboard cutouts of monsters and city skylines, cameras that look pretty out of date, and the whole place looks like it was built on a shoestring budget.

In the middle of the studio there are rows of directors chairs for every guest that woke up here, with Rod, Ghost Host, and Stan’s chairs just knocked over. In front of them stands the Agent, grinning in an extremely uncanny way.]

I’m impressed! Three bodies is impressive after that first week of nothin’! I’m gonna make sure that culprit gets an extra special reward if they manage to get away with it.

[A small pause, then:]

Okay, my shining stars. You all have to figure out who killed your fellow actors so they don’t get away with it! If they do, they get their reward while everyone else will be punished instead.

There’s no set time limit, but make sure you don’t make it borin’. The cameras are rolling and I ain’t going to let the people watch another boring average reality show!

[Nope! At the absolute most, he might be able to feel the brief breeze from her hand waving, but he can't see the hand itself.]

Psst. Hey. Its your brain. If you can hear this, you feel like confessing to any crimes you've committed.

[Subliminal messaging won't work in this case, unfortunately. Someone else aside from Eclipsa will probably need to question him. Unless, of course, she takes him off and lets someone else puppeteer him for a bit.]

[When she puts on Constantine and he comes back to life, he tilts his head in confusion.]

What- why do I keep passing out and moving? What is going on? This is even worse than last night.

That is your puppeteer. Eclipsa stole you and put you on, which is an incredibly awful sentence I never wanted to say.

[He does look around for a moment, though, frowning when he realizes that... he can't see Eclipsa anywhere.]

[He pauses. Reconsiders.]

I take it jig is up? Something happened while I was sleeping, yes?

Great, thanks. [turns to Matt] Unfortunate. You really need to work on your alibi.

[Matt flinches.] None of this was supposed to happen...

Oh, honey, you and I both know what happens when someone goes off script. Improvisation only works if you're confident.

... He, uh- I don't know if he could see me while I was puppeteering Constantine or what, but he seemed to think Constantine was some kind of... chew toy.. He was yelling something about a toy, I know that much. He pulled Constantine off my hand and- I don't know if he did it on purpose or what- but he bit my wrist when he did it. And I started trying to get him back, and I was freaking out and it hurt so god damned badly, and I just... I didn't- I didn't want to hurt him. I tried to tug Constantine away a few times and he fought me over it, knocked me to the ground, and then I kind of tossed him aside and I guess I threw him too hard into the wall and- ...Jesus.
