Week 1
[Now that the Narrator is done explaining the situation, you all have time to assess the situation and maybe even work together to find a way out. After all, clearly the Narrator is being over dramatic and it can't be that hard to escape out of here without murdering everyone, right?
But, with the doors outside indeed locked and all the windows unbreakable, it might not be a bad idea to explore the hotel, either for alternative methods of escape or to relieve boredom. Your Narrator is also now available for private chat in case you want to interrogate him or throw more stuff at his face.
If the locked doors aren't bad enough, when everyone goes back to the lobby, they'll notice a plaque on the front desk. If you thought your Narrator wasn't serious before, this is damning evidence to the contrary.
Either way, we really do hope you enjoy your stay in this hotel.]
[ Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday ]
{OOC And this'll be the last mod post for the week! Feel free to drop your coins into the penny press once you've earned them. And because this is a peace week, there will be no murder committed! And if you plan on investigating, just let us know in your toplevel by putting in INVESTIGATION. Have fun while you still can!]

[Obviously the game was afoot and clearly everyone would be stumbling blindly for awhile. Ratigan may as well kill time before he so brilliantly slips out like the genius he is. He heads into the library which is...covered with nothing but the same cypher. Oh they were really hammering in the theme here.
There he sees the film. He's seen little nickelodeons before, but this was much more fascinating. It had color and sound and these...strange puppets. It was like a Punch and Judy show! Ratigan figured he'd watch and try to make sense of the plot since he came in the middle of it. Just for amusement.
...two hours later.]
...I believe that was Treasure Island with puppetry. The most bread and circus concept I've ever seen.
[Ok he's still watching.]
Lobby
[Enough wasting time, Ratigan decides to put his mental muscle to work in devising an escape. Since obviously the doors, windows, and stairs have been locked up, finding a third way is the best option.
Given how Ursula and the others searched the lobby the other day it narrows down his search. The next obvious route is then this clearly broken down service elevator. Since obviously this elevator didn't require any futuristic means to operate it, clearly the only dilemma is opening the door...which is difficult when you're even Ratigan-sized.
Nonetheless there's far bigger guests around here.]
Pardon me, good guest, but perhaps you could trouble a mouse with your time?
lobby-ish
[Ratigan sup it's your pantsless pal here to hang out for a minute or two or just- look at you looking at the elevator]
You're trying to get in there?
no subject
Ratigan is nonplussed that someone is actively looking around and making more effort than he did about an hour ago.]
The harder road is the one less traveled or vertical in this case.
What do you say, the combined strength of two rodents prying open a human-sized door?
no subject
looks back at Ratigan
looks at door]
We'd...probably be better off getting one of the humans to do it. Or two. [Or three. But that said-] Are you gonna stick with searching this thing? I've been focusing on the rest of the lobby so far.
no subject
Another astute observation from Chip.
The octopus chimera had been quite thorough in her search, most everything is a dead end. But if we make out way up via service elevator then our escape problem is merely one of height.
no subject
Then you're welcome to it; I'm going to finish this floor before trying another one. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Lobby
[Okay, what are you planning?]
no subject
Since I am just a mere mouse of weaker stature and you clearly have the advantage in terms of strength...perhaps you may offer your strength charitably by moving these doors apart.
no subject
There you go. So you think you can get out of here that way? There could be a basement, I suppose, but I'm not sure they'd be so careless they'd leave a way out down there.
[He's hoping he's wrong about that, of course]
no subject
[Welp this can't go wrong.]
Better than waiting for inspiration from the mundane so to speak.
no subject
[You're really going to need it. At least Virgil would be willing to eat crow if you prove him wrong -- supposing you don't scram once you find a escape route. May as well try to make sure Ratigan doesn't flee the coop prematurely...]
If you actually find something, I'll reward you. Name something you want.

TV Room
So he can't help but pause to watch the film as well.]
Streamlined and diluted for the masses, it seems.
no subject
Also because of the movie.]
Yes...truly a plebeian work. This green amphibian...he's part jester and part martyr...there's no reason for him to be here...

ratmouse keeps the peace, Preston's all for it.]Perhaps the puppets are... some kind of notable comedy group. Putting themselves in whatever roles and parts they need.
no subject
What nonsense is there in making puppets part of a cabaret group? Punch and Judy are recognizable on their own they don't need to rely on other pieces of fiction.

Of course—what can I help you with?
[Reaching something?]
no subject
As you see madame, I believe if I can open the elevator then perhaps we can find a means to exit.
But as you see, a mere mouse cannot open such a massive door.
no subject
Well, I'd love to help, only—what exactly is an elevator?
no subject
Surely you're familiar with a lever-and-pulley shaft that delivers items from one part of the house to another?
[Ratigan you didn't even know what rock was.]
