Week 1

[Now that the Narrator is done explaining the situation, you all have time to assess the situation and maybe even work together to find a way out. After all, clearly the Narrator is being over dramatic and it can't be that hard to escape out of here without murdering everyone, right?

But, with the doors outside indeed locked and all the windows unbreakable, it might not be a bad idea to explore the hotel, either for alternative methods of escape or to relieve boredom. Your Narrator is also now available for private chat in case you want to interrogate him or throw more stuff at his face.

If the locked doors aren't bad enough, when everyone goes back to the lobby, they'll notice a plaque on the front desk. If you thought your Narrator wasn't serious before, this is damning evidence to the contrary.

Either way, we really do hope you enjoy your stay in this hotel.]

[ Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday ]

{OOC And this'll be the last mod post for the week! Feel free to drop your coins into the penny press once you've earned them. And because this is a peace week, there will be no murder committed!  And if you plan on investigating, just let us know in your toplevel by putting in INVESTIGATION. Have fun while you still can!]

[Belle's passing through the lobby when she hears a voice sounding from somewhere near her feet. She looks down and blinks, taking a step back in surprise. So many talking animals around here. So many. She gives him a warm smile.]

Of course—what can I help you with?

[Reaching something?]
stenchus_rodentus: (In my saloon will do quite nicely)

[Wow these humans are way more easy to deal with than the actual furries. He gestures to the elevator.]

As you see madame, I believe if I can open the elevator then perhaps we can find a means to exit.

But as you see, a mere mouse cannot open such a massive door.

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-05 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! [She takes a look at the doors he's trying to open, and then glances down at the creature. 'Mouse' seems generous, here, but she's not going to quarrel over the distinction.]

Well, I'd love to help, only—what exactly is an elevator?
stenchus_rodentus: (I pay the bill you taste the wine)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-05 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[What? It looks weird sure but surely...]

Surely you're familiar with a lever-and-pulley shaft that delivers items from one part of the house to another?

[Ratigan you didn't even know what rock was.]

[Belle taps her chin for a moment.]

Like a dumbwaiter?

[Suddenly, the doors in front of her make a bit more sense.]

So it's a very large elevator, but for people instead of things!
stenchus_rodentus: (Because Im a good ol fashioned lover boy)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-06 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
I take it those are still in use...from your hometown.

[Your extremely backwater hometown.]

Whatever this is, it's quite advanced, even for for London.
greatwidesomewhere: (06)

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-06 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
My hometown? [Belle laughs. Imagine!] Hardly. Nobody's house is nearly big enough. But I've read about them. My father is an inventor.

[She's used to tacking that on, because obviously a girl knowing how to read requires an explanation.]

Well, there's nothing for it but to try, I suppose.

[She braces herself in her booted feet and starts to tug at the heavy doors.]
stenchus_rodentus: (Driving back in style)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-06 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Is he now? What a coincidence! I do business with inventors~

[Extorting them into making robotic copies of himself.]

Don't strain yourself too hard, madame.

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-07 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! How wonderful. I'd love to hear about some of the inventions you've seen sometime.

[She's blissfully unaware of any sinister undertones to this. She keeps pushing at the elevator, albeit fruitlessly. Sighing, she steps back, shaking her head.]

It won't budge, I'm sorry.
stenchus_rodentus: (In my saloon will do quite nicely)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-08 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Believe me, I'm privy to some astounding sights. I'm currently investing in a...automaton at the moment.

[Ratigan makes a mournful expression, his shoulders slumping.]

What a pity, trapped in a sarcophagus of ill design.

greatwidesomewhere: (Default)

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-08 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
An automaton! Truly?

[She's always been fascinated by such things; her father tinkered with small-scale versions.]

Perhaps we'll find another way to get out.
stenchus_rodentus: (I pay the bill you taste the wine)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-08 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yes it was going to be a show-stopping event!

[It was going to be something.]

It would be a pity if we didn't, wouldn't you say?
greatwidesomewhere: (12)

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-08 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's....putting it lightly, I'd say.
stenchus_rodentus: (In my saloon will do quite nicely)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-08 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a grim situation, sad to say... but I believe with your eyes and height and my size, finding an escape route may come sooner than you think.

[Nah he'll just abandon y'all.]
greatwidesomewhere: (15)

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-09 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well...if I happen to see a possibility, I'll be sure to alert you.

[She bobs a little curtsey at the mouse-rat.]

I'm Belle. And you are—?
stenchus_rodentus: (And gently play on your heart strings)

[personal profile] stenchus_rodentus 2017-10-09 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Wow looks like someone has manners around here. Ratigan gives a gracious bow.]

Professor Ratigan. I believe this will be a mutually beneficial acquaintance, Madame Belle.
greatwidesomewhere: (27)

[personal profile] greatwidesomewhere 2017-10-09 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he's well-mannered! Especially for a rodent. Belle smiles.]

I certainly hope so, Professor.
