Week 2

[It's been one whole week, and no one has died yet. For someone who seemed so sure that someone would die, it seems as if The Narrator was wrong about anyone killing another person. But after awhile, the hotel might seem pretty dull. There is only so much to do in here, and if you don't enjoy books and old board games, it's hard to keep you entertained unless you like marathons of Muppet Treasure Island.

But you can keep this up, right?

Home, huh? Where's it for you? [He glances towards the fire, frowning a bit]

It's a place called the Cartoon Wasteland. It's not a place a lot of people know.

[He glances at Chip for a split second before returning to the flames.]

You wouldn't have heard about it.

...you're right, I haven't. [but...um.] What's it like?

[Oswald is quiet for a moment.]

Dark. Maybe a little dreary in the worst times. The sky and the sun were hidden for the longest time, but they finally came out recently. [He sighs.] Everything is a little broken, but it's home. That's for sure.

[He's quiet for a bit, imagining it. It certainly doesn't sound like a place he'd like to stay, but the way Oswald talks about it?

Chip, despite himself, chuckles a little]

The weather here must make you feel right at home, then, huh?

[Despite himself, Oswald shares a little chuckle with Chip. He shakes his head slowly.]

Nah, it just reminds me of one part of it; this big area of Wasteland called Bog Easy. Whole lot of swampland there, plus a haunted mansion for all the ghosts. The other sections of Wasteland are much brighter.

Even without the sun?

[jeesh this place though. it sounds...well.]

I've seen a couple castles people thought were haunted, but I've never actually seen any...real ghosts before. It's always been someone fooling around. [sometimes, that someone is 'him']

I mean, the sun is still there, it just gets covered up a lot.

[By threatening Blot clouds. Don't think about it.]

Well, I'm sorry to be the one that tells you, but ghosts are definitely real.

[Chip nods to the mention of the sun - clouds, he guesses - but for ghosts? He lets out a little huff, and kicks at the floor with his paws in his pockets]

Everything I've ever found with them turned out to be something we could explain. Whether it was someone playing pretend or something else.

[Wow?? When has he ever lied about anything??]

It's not like it's always real ghosts. [Because when you have to deal with not just one but multiple Petes, you have your work cut out for you.]

There's just a specific part of Wasteland where ghosts absolutely like to live. They're pretty comfy there, too.
